Day 4 Off Hydro and Feeling Good

Hi Everyone,

I am on day 4 off Hydrocodone and I feel really good.  I had been taking 4 - 8 pills per day for 2 years. (It fluctuated.)  After 2 horrific nights of sleep and feeling like I was indeed dying, last night I slept like a ROCK and didn't wake up once through the whole night.  I was so afraid of the chills and RLS and the crazy thoughts.  None of that happened.  Quite frankly I was shocked that it didn't.  I feel almost normal today.

What can I expect for the days to come?

Thank you for listening.
B

I have read 3-5 days is the worst and then the worst is over! Over the next few days you may feel some depression or tiredness and you will be just fine.  It really differs in people and I am happy to hear that it was short for you. What a wonderful accomplishment:))))

You should be almost done with the physical part of the withdrawal. Sleep and energy seem to be a problem for most for a while. You may still have some problems but its hard to tell.

Its the mental cravings that may be hard to control. Do you have any aftercare such as NA/AA or counseling? I have 195 days and I still get cravings. And I only used for a few months. Please realize that this might have been easy to stop(relatively) but relapse is something that can happen to anyone.

OOPS.  I forgot to mention, I quit cold turkey.  No tapering.  I was up to 8 pills/day (5/500) for the last three weeks.  I haven't told my doctor yet.  I don't want her to know until after the w/d and cravings are over.  ~B
