my last whining post

ugh its like all the forces are against me today! My almost 5 year old fell down last night and scraped his face up pretty good in the basement- right on a drain grate of all things! Its like my kids constantly fall and land on their FACES and in the most germ infested places possible! (last summer my 2 year old had to get stitches in his face when he fell in the yard on a RUSTY METAL old water trough out in the garden!!!). So anyways, he wakes up this morning and his face looks WORSE to me than it did last night, more puffy/swollen and the scrapes look really bad! Now Im freaking out he is getting infection! I cleaned the wounds out last night and again this mornign and put neosporin on them after his bath but Im nervous as hell since we currently have no medical insurance! Am I going to end up sitting in the ER today getting antibiotics for him?? God I hope not! Also the weathr is ridiculous again today, another arctic cold front- high winds 50+mph, windchills 15 to 20 below zero and snowing and blowing snow! So when I leave with the kids later today, I have to contend with the weather and black ice and snow on the roads and frigid temps!  Im so sorry to be whingin and venting here so much lately you guys!

I think things always look worse the next day... yes, last tetanus shot? I'm not positive ,but i think they usally get a booster at age 5.Keep an eye on it.

You are so much stronger than you know...take care of your self and  the kids.

I hear you on the weather...have the same s**t here..be safe while you're traveling today!

Has he had a tetnis shot is the past few years?
I hope he heals well. I am amazed at how well children heal from those scrapes.
Did the groundhog see his shadow or what, I'm cold too.  But not as cold as I was in wds  !!

your not whinning, in fact i can't believe how strong you have become. to be going through this and staying clean and not wanting to use like you said is remarkable. im glad your thinking clear and staying strong. this is ******** that your going through right now, but hang in there, your children are lucky to have a great mom. please take care of yourself and keep us updated when you can. best of luck.

You poor thing.  It seems like everything happens all at once doesn't it?  You are a strong person, and I know it will get better for you.  Somehow, good things will come from this.  I truly believe that good comes from everything.
