my teeth hurt

several years or so ago i had a tooth knocked out. I have had several surgeries to have a tooth implant put in. last week i got a sinus infection and was put on antibiotics (a Z pack that i finished 2 or 3 days ago). i started to feel better 2 days ago. however, yesterday i started getting pain in the general area of my implanted tooth. the tooth is located on the upper left side of my mouth (5 in from my front tooth). I thought it was strange that it started bothering me AFTER most of my congestion went away. I am no longer blowing out tons of nasty yellow/brown mucus from my nose but i am still coughing up brown stuff.  I am also started taking on an antibiotic 4 days ago called metronidazol (500mg) I would think that being on two antibiotics would kill off ANY infection i might have ANYWHERE in my body. I  feel pain in my tooth (or mixio.. something ?? the bone above upper teeth ..) with every step i take, if i bend down to pick something up and if a shake my head.  just to make things more complicated, I have a habit of snorting non acedomenaphin (spelling??) oxycodone. Obviously this is bad for me. But what i want to know is whether my drug addiction has something to do with this pain or not. personally i don't think it is. One last thing i should have mentioned earlier.. one of the reasons i have had several surgeries is because when the first procedure was done. the dr. drilled the metal screw (that hold the thing that hold the fake tooth) a tiny bit into my sinus cavity. hence why i can not determine whether my pain is from the botched surgery, the sinus infection or the drug use.I am afraid to go to my doctor and have her look up my nose and find pill residue because that would obviously not go well. this leads me to my second question
how long after you snort a pink oxycodone can it be seen in your nose or sinuses?? (top question is way more important that the second one.
I am a bit of a hypochondriac and fear i have cancer or a tumor or something that will kill me. I am looking for professional answers not lectures on how i need to stop being a drug addict. I have been off of heroin, crack, and coke for 6 years smoking cigs, pot and pill (which i am prescribed but misuse) are all i have left to kick.

And I don't mean this to scare you but seriously get it checked out ASAP cause it could be a staph infection which is why the general anti-biotics you are taking isn't getting rid of it. I have had staff a couple times and ended up in the hospital getting pumped full of vancomycin because the regular anti-biotics did nothing and the staff just got out of hand so they had to use the strongest anti-biotic available for staph infections so if I was you I would just skip going to a general doctor or that or any other dentist I just wasn't thinking about staph when I wrote that first comment about seeing another doctor for their opinion and go to the E.R. ASAP because if that is what it is they can start you on the I.V. vancomycin right away I'm sorry I'm not trying to scare you just help you and like I said I have had staph a few times and it is a painful and scary thing and not something to be taken lightly or only felt with once it gets just so bad you can't take the pain because if it is staph the longer you wait the worse it hurts and in that area the more dangerous it becomes. If ya don't mind keeping us posted that would be good to and sorry to hear about this cause I know that area is a painful place for an infection oh and keep your fingers out of there to cause if it is staph and u touch it it can very easily spread into anywhere there is an abrasion even if u don't know there is a sore somewhere

I def agree with Vicki here and would not be worried about residue or any of that cause if the screw went to far and punctured your sinuses then it needs to be fixed or you will continue having infections. I would go to another doctor just a general doctor not the same dentist and get their opinion cause I know this is gonna sound bad but I have heard of things like this happening numerous times not in the same spot just in general a doctor messing up and knowing something is wrong but yet saying oh it will be just fine to protect himself instead of saying something is wrong because I ****** up

Hi there!   Personally, I think your problem is sinus related. There are sinuses very close to our upper teeth, as you've found out, so it's not unusual to have a problem there...

You really need to have this checked. Pain is an indication of a problem and this needs to be assessed soon. You can call your general dentist about this or see the doctor who treated your sinus infection but you really need to see someone...infections in the mouth, teeth, sinuses, can lead to some serious problems if left unchecked!  Let us know what's happening.
