17 days Tramadol free but back to work tomorrow!

Hello everybody,
A lot of you in these forums are aware of my situation, I have been posting my cold turkey progress in these forums for approximately 7 days now and the responses have been nothing short of overwhelming!
I'm setting back into the big wide world in just over 5 hours (and av not even been to bed yet!) to retry life and go back to work without the evil tramadols, you guys have been nothing short of heaven sent angels regarding getting me through this with your help, advice and experiences.
I am going to say a little prayer for all those responsible for my road to recovery and for those who just need help from these fantastic people in these forums,
I work long hours 5am-5pm Monday to Friday so although there won't be as much posting, there will be some I guarantee it,
Still feel free to ask me questions about my detox or anything you may think I can help you with anytime.
My thoughts and love with you guys always,
I will keep you posted on my progress.
An eternally grateful,
Richard.

Just tell me to P#+S off if it seems like I'm haunting you toothfairie hehe,
The sensation is more of a "long fizz" more than a zap,
If I moved my head from one side to the other there is a fizzing sensation throughout the whole movement.
It's really hard to properly describe it but it even happens whenI move my eyes and even when I blink,
Very very frustrating and uncomfortable sensation.
Moan moan and just a bit more moan for good measure,
Your sleep deprived twisty arse Brit buddy,
Richard

Hello again,
What is a "Dumba"? Please toothfairie? Sounds intreguing!
Your right I woulda lost my job which I studied hard for years for and what woulda "chipmunk" lost except his front teeth? Nothing!!
Self control is hard but I am ok at it, I like you used to bottle thing up as I am as deep as the ocean and very rarely wear my heart on my sleeve, that is going to change as part of my reconditioning,
I managed just under 3 hours sleep before I started bouncing the alarm clock off every room back at my mums, feel ok I took one of those supplements 1st thing (they are called BEROCCA) drove to work with 4 slices of toast drizzled with pure clear honey and a cuppa listening to my Red Hot Chili Peppers CD at near full volume!
I just can't seem to shake these brain zaps toothfairie! What is the deal with them? Have you any idea please?
10 more mins break, nothing in for me to do so I might go airside and take the mickey or frighten some aircrews commenting on "dodgy looking" things regarding their aircrafts.

lol well it's probably a good thing you didn't clock him, cuz then you would have lost your job because of a dumba**!!   Self control is a good thing...i find i don't have much these days...i bottled up so much, out of guilt or whatever when i was using and now i don't have to!  But i do try and take things with a grain of salt as they say....good things come to good people...karma and all that right??  lol  hope you get some sleep before that "devil" alarm goes off!

Thanks Julie,
What you posted is just exactly what I have been thinking all along, I think I just needed to hear what I have been thinking all along, like an outsider looking in as such, I am in a really good place physically and emotionally, again I have my Aikido spiritual teachings to thank for that  but even
"a giant can slip on a marble" and my yearning to return to my wife's arms is that marble.
I WILL SOLDIER ON..British Bulldog spirit and all that bollocks eh?!
Thank you for that "kick in the arse wake up call" Julie.
Are you ok today?

I should of knocked his lights out really, these young pilots have such a chip on their shoulders it's unbelievable, they try to look down at us through their noses telling us what THEY believe is wrong with an aircraft when really 95% of them haven't got a clue about how an aircraft really works!
I've met loads of ex RAF pilots working for airlines and these guys and girls are fandabadosey, like you say because of the discipline in the military training. The bottom line is these "chipmunk pilots" as I call them think we just fix aircraft not realising that myself and my colleagues probably have more hours flying time than them and more ratings than them, we just lack the rich daddy part that's all.
Bang goes my karma and I only have 25 mins left in the day before I jump in the "pit" to get some kip (3hrs worth hehehe)

Well then by all means you should go for it!  But - please remember that you first and foremost have to do this (the whole recovery, get back in shape thing) for YOU!  You have come a long way in a very short time.  The addiction took it's time in taking control - how many years did you say, 7?  Please take one day at a time and work on YOU for YOU.  There have been a few times in the last few months (of being clean) that I have wondered if I will ever be the same person I was.  Well, actually I know I won't.  I am much smarter now and will NEVER take some of the things for granted that I once did - like how GOOD it feels to wake up every day and NOT have to watch for the Fed Ex man or wonder how I am going to explain to the hubs WHY the Fed Ex man is here so often when the nosey neighbor asks me at the summer picnic.  Ya know - the simple things :)  But seriously, you have a lot of healing to do.  More than likely as the ex sees the changes in you it will happen naturally (hopefully - if that is what you both want).  For now, just concentrate on how awesome YOU are and how your life will be better in SO many ways - for you sons, your job, everything.  Who knows what the "new and improved" sober & clean you will really want or need.  Now, just heal and enjoy the feeling of clean each new day brings!  Keep it up - don't lose focus or forget about the monkey :)

FL Belle!!  i like that..that's a new one!  lol  i've been called a southern belle....but i don't know about that....i'm pretty shy in person but when i get to know someone, look out!  i don't have much of a filter!  haha

whey protein seems to work for me....plus with all the protein in one drink, my bloodsugar doesn't bottom out when i don't eat right in the mornings...lol  always on the go...with 2 jobs, the weekend one, it's hard to even get a drink much less eat!  but i do the best i can.

sorry you had that run in with the snot...lol  there are all kinds of people in the world...i run across a few working at the bases but for the most part they are all polite and do what their told...haha  they are used to it i guess in the military.

you sound like you are doing really well tonight!  i know you have to be worn out...congrats on the first day back!

Thank you for checking up on me Julie,
I've thought more about you guys today than any jobs at hand today!
I feel I have been physically and emotionally strong since I started detoxing but arriving back to my parents house or "home" I felt a sense of emptiness realising I have my life back, my health, my job, hope but there is still a massive void in my heart and that is the fact I lost my true soulmate of 15 years to bloody painkillers,
Yes I only have myself to blame and I may very well take that to my grave,
But at the moment I am probably wasting my time but I am focusing solely on returning to the man I used to be and the man my soon to be ex wife fell in love with. When we 1st met I worked out a lot and had the "beach body" I was 21 and single, she was 26 and also single, it may sound silly but that's why I'm working out again,it's not for my recovery really, it's to try to re-attract her to me!
I'm sorry about that but it's been burning up inside and I had to vent itto someone Julie.
It's worth a try I think,
I love her truly, madly deeply.
On a lighter note I'm just off to make a cuppa and grab a turkey sandwich,
Won't be long
Thanks Julie.

Hello there my FLA BELLE! Hehehe
Thank you for the kudos, sounds like a crap aftershave doesn't it!
I got the Whey protein for building muscle mass as I am working out everyday now and I want my old weight of 13 stone back on, (I was a paltry 9stone 6lbs on day 1 of my detox) but now nearly day 18 I am up to 11stone 5lbs so I am very happy, I'm only a shortarse as well (5,6/5,7 with heels!)
I'm new to all these supplements and didn't realise whey protein was good for energy, I just thought you work out, rip your muscles open and the whey protein got dug in there and repaired the muscle and made it bigger!
I really do hope it helps with my energy,
Picking up some Rhodiola tomorrow, everyone seems to rave about it so if I can't beat em join em!
Was a little wound up at work but I settled myself after an altercation with a snotty young co-pilot with a crap airline who thought he knew it all, puberty mustn't of been suiting him well today!
Alarm going off in 3.5hours  and still quite awake,
Hungry again!

Thank you for your beautiful kind words of inspiration vickie,
I have the beautiful martial art Aikido for my "inner strength and energy"
I have been studying for almost 10 years now and it has taken a horrible dark time like this to make me realise what I have REALLY been learning whilst practising Aikido,
Please don't get me wrong I am a lover not a fighter, when people think Aikido they automatically think of Steven Seagal throwing people all over and breaking bones like twigs, yes we can do that but in very extreme scenarios
Aikido is a non attacking art, if I am faced by an attacker the 1st bone I would manipulate is his funny bone! But if that fails if I am attacked I simply "re-channel" all his negative attacking energy and use it against him to possibly throw him.
The inner peace and spiritual side is more important in Aikido than actual techniques. My Sensei is also a fully qualified acupuncturist and I had a session yesterday for the 1st time!
If I was to tell you how it went I don't think you would believe me but it was the most beautiful "out of body sensation if you like" I have ever experienced,
Don't forget how much Tramadol I was taking before as well hehehehe.
My Tea of choice is Tetleys "strong cup" so I will be mother, white or black and how many sugars what what, Pinkies up
How are you doing though vickie?

Hiya vickie
I just picked up some supplies after work today and you were right I did miss that earlier post I am truly sorry for that, I feel ignorant for that now!
Rhodiola,, I bloody knew there was something else to ask for in that health store! I will definitely pop back in tomorrow during one of my breaks and pick some up!
Orr man talkin about grub and "barbys"!! My all time favourite food on a BBQ is a large unseasoned Salmon fillet wrapped in Aluminium foil! And the BBQ has to be charcoal fuelled not gas, av just had a bloody tandoori chicken Vindaloo with boiled rice and plain naan bread and my mouth is watering talking about bloody BBQ's!!
I would walk through fire, swim oceans and climb mountains to meet up with all you awesome guys for a BBQ man (can I wear the apron and big soppy white hat though please? Hehehe)
Goin for that "cuppa now"
Cheers vickie

Hello everyone!
It's 8pm and I am whacked!
Had a good morning at work, had an awesome pub lunch, had a busy afternoon and I escaped at 430pm to try to beat the rush hour traffic on the motorway, failed that one so I dived into the shopping centre and picked up some supplies, a box of vitamins and minerals (in tablet form! YUK!)
Which has vitamin C, B1, B2, B6, B12,Niacin, Folic acid, Biotin, Pantothenic acid, Magnesium and Zinc but these range from between 5 and 10 times the recommended daily allowance! But, I'm fine with that! a 900gram tub of USN Strawberry flavour Whey Protein and a Subway 6in Italian meatball for good measure just to top it off hehehe.
I got back to my parents house at 615pm had a good workout with "The Prodigy" playing on my iPod, shower, rang my soon to be ex to speak to my 2 boys, (they go to their other Grandparents on a Tuesday for dinner)
Speaking to my angels perked me up a little more after my workout,
But now it's 815pm and the day is taking its toll on me, or is it just the Tandoori chicken Vindaloo with boiled rice and plain naan bread that I've just scoffed to blame for making me sleepy hehehe,
Also I weighed myself this morning and I have gained another 4lbs since Saturday, I think I will make my target of 13stone by the end of the month never mind the original deadline of June, delighted!
Almost 18 days now, I'm kicking it's arse over the moon!
A little nickynackynoonooed, Richard

well food does sound much better than just water!  i will grab a bisquit at McDonald's for breakfast...and of course my whey protein shake!  chocolate....mmmmm....i've kind of gotten used to the taste now....chocolate is so much better than vanilla to me anyway.

Don't freeze up out there today!  i will be thinking about you in the 70 degrees we are suppose to be today...but it's suppose to rain i think.  We need it too....it's way to dry here....the lake in front of my condo is almost dried up...so sad PLUS the snakes are crawling now!!!  ugggg

have a good lunch!  and a great day!  you are doing so good!

Have a good one!
"go get em!"
Take care in that Florida sun, sun cream up whilst I get "drizzle oil" and "gloom juiced" up!
Got a flight due any time but by the time it's unloaded and dispatched over here I will be on my lunchtime so it can wait!
Going for a pub dinner instead of the usual 2 litres of water for my lunch and can't wait because I am clamming starving.
Speak to you soon if the pub has WI-FI.
