I was wondering if you are on anything like nexium? I haven't read all here so you might be on something for stomach protection.I am so sorry about you pain. It must be very hard to deal with this when you are so limited to the meds you can take. Do you have a doctor that understands you? It may be the time to change. Do you still keep in touch with the doctor that did your gastric bypass? I think I would look toward one if you can't get a doctor to help you.Is your liver real bad? I don't know much about the liver.I really worry about your little tummy and your pain.I hope you can find help.Tylenol does Not help on a lot of things. Stay off of that ibuprofen, asprin, aleve, motrin.I don't have a clue how to help you but you need a doctor that can help you in some way, soon. I will pray that someone here can give good advice and I want to keep in touch with you, maggiesue
We all post things at times I am sure hits someone the wrong way. I would not say naughty's post are never productive would not say that of no one here. To much love and concern around chef. I feel for you though as I know the issue of nsaids and the ulcer thing not the gastro bypass. I am sorry you are having pain so bad, I know the insaid thing like I said because I force myself to take ibuprofen for it because it hurts less than any I found like advil or the like Ouch. Hoping you feel better. Mike
why dont you find out the real reason why someone cant take something instead of leaving snotty answers fyi cant take ibro because had gastric bypass my stomach is the size of a egg if i get ulcers there is not much to remove hence I die your answer are never really very productive!!!

ok aleve is naprosyn or naproxen it is an NSAID still have the issues with stomach
the only NSAID that I know of that will have little effect on the stomach is tolecton that is becouse it is taken 1 daily and it is broken down in the intestins insteed of the stomach. Carpol tunnel issue is easier to reduce pain sleep in splints at night wrist **** up splints when your cutting up food stop putting preasure over the carpol tunnel use a small towell to protect your hands. Nonsteroidal Anti-imfamitories

I have carpal tunnel in both hands and I know wearing my braces does make a difference in the pain level for me,especially if I wear them when I go to bed at night.I really do hope you find some relief I know how painful back problems and carpal tunnel can be especially when they both flare up and you've sworn off the pain pills.Hang in there.Praying for you.
I have stomach ulcers so I thought I would clear up any confusion about what someone with stomach issues can versus can't take. According to my gastro acetominophen, taken at the correct dosage, is all anyone with stomach issues should take. Anything with Aspirin or Ibuprofen is something that I can't take, which seems to be everything in the OTC pain meds except for Tylenol. I know for me personally, Tyelnol just doesn't get the job done!!
I do use heat and cold on my back to ease the pain, but there are many days that nothing works!!
I just wanted you to know that I understand how frustrating it can be to try and get pain relief when our only option is Tylenol. I hope you get to feeling better soon!!
how about fire and ice... heating pad for 15 minutes. cool your back, then ice for 15 minutes.. works decent to relieve immediate pain, and its how i get my lower back to unlock for me...
carpal tunnel in the arm can be alleviated with a brace on the forearm, just under the elbow, my brace is a strap on type, can be tightened to your comfort. these are just a few things ya can do to manage the pain, without a pill. good luck, n much love....
You are right Trouble....it has 650mg. of Tylenol in it, but it is in an extended release form and my daughter is only 14 LOL, and she says it works, so I go with it...LOL
Okay, what about Aleve? It's an anti-inflammatory and it's not motrin or tylenol?
Im sorry youre hurting too. I can so relate!
Confused: Im pretty sure tylenol arthritis is actually just a high dose acetominophen. my aunt takes it and i looked at the label once, and im pretty sure thats all it had in it and I thought what a scam, they charge an arm and a leg for this stuff, when you could just buy a store brand cheap bottle of aceto for 1/3 the cost or more for the same exact medicine.
Have you tried Tylenol Arthritis? I know you are concerned about your Tylenol intake, but it is better than taking the Vic's. and that is what my daughter uses. She was diagnosed on her 10th birthday with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, and refuses to take the meds. they prescribed to her. Not sure this will help, but it is something to consider. Best of luck, and I hope you feel better soon!
Too bad you have stomach issues. I will look online and see if I can find a natural anti-inflammatory because for back and carpel tunnel that would be best. I'm sorry you're in so much pain:(
much love,
lisa
Why can't you take motrin? It's funny how we can take 20-30 vic's but we can't take one Motrin.......Sorry, but it does make me laugh when i hear people say they are allergic to all OTC's but they can plug down the narcotics........no problemo. I am amazed how well Motrin actually works now that im off the Narc's.
Nauty............
That has to be tough being a chef! There are many non narcotic prescription meds out there. Maybe you can talk to your doctor about some of them. If one doesn't work, try another. Some meds that work for one may not work for another. Hope you get to feeling better soon!
