on day 12 withdrawl and still feel bad, not horrible

Mind you I have been on methadone for 10 years straight at 120mg and stopped 7 months ago. I was put on suboxone for 6 months and now I am 12 days off ALL opiates. I am very happy with myself but I think it will take me awhile to recover. The crawling arms thing is what is driving me crazy. I hope it is not something I have done to myself that will not go away, but I think it will take time. Does anyone else have this problem with being off 12 days in or longer. Plus I never felt quite right on Subs. It never made me feel normal. I hope it did not do anything to my nerves. But if it did I should know in about a week or so. But if it is something that is normal than I can handle it for a bit longer without meds, not opiates.

Hi..If you got the crawly skin or the RLS then take some Magnesium & Potassium. This helps..Eats some Bananas before bed. For the pain get in the bath with Epsom salt..The salt has Magnesium that helps draw the poison out. Then for the Pain go get under a Heating Blanket for sure. I had to do this about a year ago and I had to do it a few more times as I processed. Now sleep will take time to balance back its cycle. Try to make a nightly routine. I took some Calcium, Magnesium, and Ds at night..Also took the Melatonin now and then..NOW you say you got the Clonidine, well I was to stubborn in my first month to take ANYTHING but I finally did the Clonidine, but I could only take it a bedtime. It would make me really strange during the day..I do not know why since my Anxiety was on the Moon and I could not sleep for at least 22 days until I finally took it..I also took the buspar which is a non-addicting med for anxiety. It was like a sugar pill for how bad I was, but it finally helped about 2 months later..Discontinued Both in my 3rd month..I went all natural and was fine for awhile.
So like I have said before; TIME is the GREATEST HEALER of this ALL..
Good Job!!

No thank God I have a lazy job. And the internet to keep my mind busy. I probly hate this job once I get done.lol Cause I know I will want to be busy after this is done. After I feel better I plan on quitting smoking as well. And go CLEAN. Cigs that is I already quit my other smoking habit three years ago. The problems I have will take time I know. And when you are feeling ok or good when it goes backwards on you is when you hate it cause you were feeling better. But I know I have to take it ONE day at a time. And EVERYONE has been so great with thier comments. I AM NOT GOING BACK. I know this road all to well and I dont really know the high anymore anyways which makes it easier and I have not felt good in 6 months cause of how I felt on subs. Which I think was the blocking factor in it did not agree with me. So I am already use to feeling bad but the skin thing and pain is a little hard. Plus the no sleep.

Well I made it to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!And I have been feeling better today. I have clonidine to help. It helps with the leg pains and back pains. And I do not abuse it. I take half of what the doctor gave me to take. Plus it is not addictting. And after I get better and better I will not take it anymore. I think three weeks should be enough. Since my post this morning my skin has felt better. It does get worse when trying to sleep. I have been getting about 4 hours a night but tonight I have to work maybe I can catch a quick nap later when a co-worker comes in. I dont work tommorrow but then it is three days straight. I took off 11 days to go though the bad stuff and very glad I did. To be back to work is helping also it keeps me busy. Even though my legs feel like jello and have pain.

Thanks for your comment. As you can tell I at least feel somewhat better to be on here, lol. Yea I detoxed off methadone in 10 days. But after two days of nothing I had to get on suboxone which I do regret but only on it for 6 months now I am 12 days clean of everything except clonidine to help a little which is not a narcadic (however you spell it). But my goal is not to be on ANYTHING. Just glad that what I am feeling is normal.

Yea your right. I love coming on here and hearing from people who know what they are talking about. I know I dont want to get high anymore, at least that is going for me. I just need to keep telling myself that it took me 15 years to get to this point and 12 days will not cure me. I know I have a long road and it might take at least a month to feel somewhat normal. I thank everyone who leaves a comment on here to help.

Great job on 12days!!!..I was on methadone for 8yrs & I totally remember that!..I had ii in both my arms & legs & it seems like a couple days after each taper I would feel it more & more, then it would get better, then the next taper same thing...make sure you are taking the Cal/may/zinc combo, 4 in the morning & 4 in the evening..plus I tell everyone on here EXERCISE!!!  You will be amazed how much it will help w/that!!  Also try soaking in a hot tub of Epsom salt...each day will get better!!...you are doing great!!!....Teri xo ;)

This all sound normal..I detoxed form a 12 yrs Done ride and took 2 other meds..Went c/t about almost a year ago..I tried the Subs for only 4 days and did them totally wrong from what I have been learning on  here..The Subs seemed to have got me nervous as well but I was also in detox. The Sub you will still have some w/ds and Doing the drugs for so long takes time for the Bran Transmitter and receptors on & on to balance it out..This is where we have to have Patience and Trust the process. It took me this long to turn the best corner yet..The physical is over soon but the mental can ride in and out for months. If we get emotional we also can get some anxiety and shakes to follow..It all has to do with the Brain and the singles it sends to the body as we heel..Just drink LOTS of water and Protein & Electrolyte powders. Keep on taking a bunch of natural vit/min..These are the things we need to put back after long drug use. So hang on tight and you will be able to let go real soon. Congratulations on your days so far!!

I have been taking clonidine for a week to help but I do not want to stay on it very long.  So it is normal. I am thankful for that. I just thought after 12 days I would feel normal, guess I was fooling myself. But 7 more days to feel better I'll take it. I have to go back to work tonite which concerns me but I think a different place will help. Hope so anyway.

Congrats on your 12 huge days! That is awesome and what you're feeling is completely normal. Double up on the magnesium for now and it will helps with the skin crawls...they aren't permanent:). Epsom salt baths will help too! Remember that it will be a roller coaster ride for the next month and not a steady incline of "feeling better." Eventually the lows will occur less and less and you'll have more good days than bad days. Around day 20 I noticed a big difference and even more so at day 30. You're doing great! Please keep posting and update us on how you're feeling :).
