on nubaun for 8 years day 1 off
reading everyones post is helping me......im sooooo fricken miserable...been taken naulphine hydrochloride for 8 maybe 9 years....i'm done with this ********....cant sleep just pacing the house..i feel like i should just run a marathon to expend my restless legs...tired of spending every spare dime on nubain...tired of sticking myself every 2-4 hours..could easly go thru 40 mg in a day....started off as something to take in the gym....them thought it might be fun to take while i ran erronds.....8 years later my *** is bruised and marked up....time to act like an adult and get my **** together...tried tapering down....but also convinced myself i had a hard day and tommorow i start taking less.....bottom line is if i have it im taking it....so ran out ...had some percoet about 12 of them....and i was fine...pers lasted about 2.5 days....now hell is unleashed....im not strong enough to have nubain and not use it...if i had it rigt now i would take a fat *** shot and go to bed...so if anybody has used this drug before can u let me know how long my misery is going to last...
Benadryl and melatonin can cause restless legs. I know it's so hard when we can't sleep but be careful of taking too many things as it can backfire and make it worse. Maybe try something new like the sleepy time teas that they have.
22 days clean and i feel ok during the day but the nights still suck...im taking melatonin and 2 or 3 benadryl to help me sleep and still awake at 4 am..i just wanna sleep like a normal person...restless legs tonight..thinking about my nubain...i do miss it"....but it has to be over....8 years of using...it was the first thing i did in the morning and the last thing i did before bed and every 2 or 4 hours in between sticking myself with needles...7 shots a day for 8 years,,, thats over 20,000 shots...horriable...
Often cold symptoms are part of the withdrawal. I think the craving is bad the second week but it does pass. We always have to have our guard up because it just takes a second to pop that pill into our mouth.

Hello day 8!!! Slept good last night...kinda not doing well tonight....my good fortune has gotten me a cold to go along with my wd...gonna take nyquill and a melatonin.".still think about calling my source..but i need to stay strong..i read somewhere that an opiate addict never really gets over the desire to use".wtf.....i hope this isnt true...
day 4....im totallly done with this still trouble sleeping but....the desire to use is going away....a new life is ahead of me....kinda excitied...been so long since i was clear headed...8 years i cant even remember

I am not familiar with nubain but know that it is an opiate so I imagine the withdrawals would be about the same as any other strong opiate.
My only concern is have you researched that it is safe to stop cold turkey?
Most are but there are a few that aren't.
While everyone is different, the withdrawals usually last 3 to 4 days..
Day 3 usually being the worst.
Check out the Thomas recipe at the bottom right of this page and stock up on the things that are mentioned there.
Imodium is a must and drink lots and lots of fluids.
Try to eat easy things like crackers, soups etc.
Sorry you are feeling so bad but it sounds like you are going through the worst of it and should feel some relief soon.
