oxycontin w/d symptoms

hi everyone.  im addicted to oxycontin ive only been abusing it for about 4 months and have been taking fairly small doses (30-40mg) on a regular almost day to day basis. and recently ive been unable to get ahold of the drug anymore therefore ive began feeling withdrawal symptoms more severe than i thought i would have to endure for such a short time user. ive tried to quit multiple times but it hasnt worked solely because of the depression. i feel the only way i can ever be happy again in life is by taking oxycontin. i feel so unmotivated, lazy, and depressed when sober that i can barely leave the house or get anything productive done. it feels like the world is ending for me if im not under the influence. and the worst part is ive managed to get this mentally screwed up and im only 16 years old. i feel so alone and dont know what to do anymore. please help me

This is a good thing that you cannot get the oxy anymore. You are being forced to go thru withdrawls but they will pass. Try to exercise and do thing you used to do that were fun. Hopefully you won't have a chance to get the oxy's again. You're only 16 you have a great chance to nip this in the bud. You don't want to face what many of us here face and that is long term addiction with horrible attempts to get clean. Trust me. stop now or you might be posting again in five years. You don't want it, be strong, the depression will pass and your energy will return. All the best

Oxy wasn't my doc but still oxy is a strong opiate.  Please give yourself more time,  you weren't useing that terribly long so perhaps a month or two will find you feeling better. Meanwhile,  others will come on here to tell you what has helped them.  Do read others posts and replys because they can help you alot too with information that might pertain to you.   Please, don't ever think that just one won't hurt anything, because it does, it just takes one to put you back to useing again.   I know this is painful,  we all know that,  you will feel better again, give it time.  If all else fails, please tell your mom/dad that you are depressed and need to talk to a Dr.  don't let it go on forever.  Just my opinions,  my youngest son came to me last year, nearly in tears, telling me how he felt,  the next day I had him in to see a Dr. as I knew the signs of depression all too well.  Today he is happy, goes to college, has a job and feels like life is worth living.  I'm so proud he could talk to me abt how he was feeling.  Life was meant to live and enjoy as much as possible, we all have our ups and downs but we need to know that life should be lived not depressed all the time.  Give yourself more time and if all else fails, talk to your parents abt it.
