About 4 months ago i was discharged from hospital with a pescription for codeine phosphate 30mg. After i finneshed the corse i went back to my gp for a check up, when he put me on solpadol (codeine and paracetamol). Now i find my self having really bad withdrawl symptoms like insomnia and joint pain when i dont take codeine, im still taking between 90mg and 180mg a day. What should i do? many thanks from rob

Welcome to the forum..this is a great place to find help and support. As others have said, if you want to stop the pills you can go ct(cold turkey) or taper(decrease the amt. you are taking gradually). Let us know what you want to do.......

Everyone has their own threshold...if he's having insomnia and pain in relation to stopping the pills, he IS going thru wd's. I was only taking 4 vics 7.5/day the last 2 months of my using...and i still had wd...others took much more...It doesn't matter how much or how little we took....if we are having a problem/or symptoms of wd... he is at the right place to get help

It all depends on what you want for yourself. If you want to live clean and sober, you need to get off the pills....Please keep us posted....and you can do it...

You should recognize that you are in the beginnings of real physical addiction and stop befor this get really out of hand.  Read the posts on here and look at how bad it can really get.  You are very smart for looking into this now. Addiction is addiction no matter how it gets stated.  Sorry for your painbut it will get better if you allow yourself to stop now.

hi rob, do you want to quit are or you just asking?  there are several options for quitting.  taper or c/t.  give me a lil more info on what you wanna do and we will help.

Do you want to get off the Codeine? If so you'll have to go through WD just like with any Opiate. You have to make the decision on what you want to do. You've only been on the codeine for 4 months please don't spend years on it like I did the lortabs and other in here have done on Opiates. Good luck with your decision and we are here to help you.
