Hi there!

It certainly would have been advisable to try to taper down a little bit lower if possible, but this IS doable.  People have come off 2mg or sub, and higher doses even.  Have you been working on your sobriety, like going to meetings, or getting some kind of therapy?  If not, that's going to need to be a priority for you as soon as you're feeling better because you will be at a higher risk for relapse post sub.

Look up the Thomas recipe, and ask your doc for any help he can offer you.  There are non habit forming meds that can aid in reducing the severity of w/d symptoms.

I also agree that often times most people psych themselves out and make it worse.  Try to have a positive attitude about it, have the mindset that it is just temporary, you WILL get better!

Good luck to you!

Hi there!! You came to the right place for support!! I have to ask a serious question... Are you ready to be done with all opiates including Subs? My personal opinion is this is a blessing! I was in Sub for almost 6 years! It helped me so much get my life back together. But when my insurance ran out...I decided I was ready to give up my Sub. It's not the easiest road. But it CAN be done! I am currently day 22!!! It gets better every day. Expect to feel crappy for about 4-7 days. Sub w/d lasts a little longer bc of the half life. I had no idea what to expect until day 3 of detox and I found this forum. It saved me so many times. Keep close by and more people will be around for support.

This could be a blessing. At some point you'd need to come off. Bottom right of page is the Thomas Receipt. That has helped a lot of people. I've never taken sub so not sure what to expect. But have had withdrawal and do know subs have a long half life. That just means might take a day or two before full effects hit
Sorry you have to go through this. Keep posting and good luck
