Is it me or this addiction thing?????

Just curious and wanted to hear what you all have to think on this, since all this began three weeks ago I have been eating the heck out of candy all night. I swear I did not eat sweets before this that much at all and have never had to worry about gaining weight in my life as I have had since I was eighteen and still to this day have a 30" waist. I hope I don't have to start worrying now, but I have three bags of candy here One big back of three muskateers mini chocolate bars and I can't stop eating em. My kids love this, but this is not like me to eat all this ****. Heck I have went days without eating before now I want to feed my face with this junk. Hold on a sec I have to get a chocolate bar! Anyone want one? ooohhh this is good. LOL Serious is this some sort of craving I am having because I have stopped using and something that my body is needing? Help I am going to have to go to over eaters anonymous.

It's totally from the w/d man.  A lot of us ate like hogs, me included, and still am to some degree.  I consumed significant quantities of candy myself that's for sure.  Chocolate has been found to be more pleasurable, by far, in the brain than sex.  Although I'd have to say I enjoy both, and if you can, do both.  Your brain by the way, only uses glucose for energy, and right now, it's trying to heal in a big way, give your body whatever you're craving (you know what I mean I hope) because there's a reason for it.

I am the same way. Ever since I got off the meds, I've been eating like crazy and mostly sweet stuff. I've probably gained more than ten pounds since the middle of january when I quit.

Poor Breezie, at least you haven't gained 12lbs because of the chocolate. I have to have it every day!! And I'm getting married in 2 months, I really need to cut down but I just can't. So yes, Mike I totally understand. You're not alone!

On my successful detox, I ate the house empty.  Sweets were especially big in my detox.  Like you, I never ate sweets before.

I worried about weight gain.......and I did put on 10 lbs.  but I didn't worry about it that much because detox is the wrong time to diet.  So eat, then diet later.

I put on 10 lbs, and am now sane enough to diet.  I've lost 3, so 7 to go.

Happy eating!

CleanedUP is right. Chocolate causes your brain to release endorphins, The "feel good" chemical in the brain.  Its just another way your brain is trying to feel good.
Your brain is saying (in a Snidly Whiplash voice)  "Ha Ha, if you won't give me drugs, I will make you eat tons of candy".

Actually, eating chocolate, especially dark chocolate, can stimulate your brain to release endorphins. This goes along with working out, listening to music, having sex, etc etc. So eat away!

I have been the same way. I CRAVE chocolate. I made a chocolate cake for brothers bday and I ate most of it. I have been hiding chocolate in my room...it goes on and on. I am staying at my mom's right now and she would kill me if she knew because I am fat and the next thing is to get me skinny so I can get a man! lol She cracks me up. But seriously I still have to hide the chocolate. I feel like I am 15 again instead of 35! BTW this living with mom thing is very very temporary incase anyone thought it was weird I was living with my mom. She is helping me out with this.

I made a similar post 2 days ago, I've been eating like crazy, too. I think it's the pill tapering in my case. If you only have a 30" waist, I don't think you have anything to worry about, my hubby wears a 44" he still eats like crazy, anyway! Oh well, lots of women think big guys are sexy LOL

When I stopped drinking years ago - the docs told me to stock up on sweets.  I can't remember what they said, but your body craves sugar.  I am tapering off vics, but the whole time I have eaten tons of sweets.  I thought the pills were making me do it.
