with methadone and the xanax which i have extensive history with and still do, first of all i want to congratulate you on getting down and off the done that is amazing that is by far the best treatment but at the same time the absolute worst cuz you cant CT and tapering too fast can ensure pure hell...methadone wd's are the worst i have ever imagined, i had to CT from 19mgs of xanax daily for over a year and 9mths of 100mgs of methadone cuz of two tickets that werent paid so i sat in milwaukee county jail for 4 days total and the only thing they offered me even thought they talked to both my therapist and my methadone doc is two tylenol twice aday..i was the most horrifying site you would ever see..i could not walk and all i would do is vomit and poop(sorry for the vulgarism) but that was by far worse than  any of my DOC wds by far..but youve actually done it youve gotten through the hardest part that is almost impossible, i want to throw you a damn party im so happy to hear that..its rare and to hear your success fills me with hope, that is amazing. about your sleep cycle and the drowsiness..the drowsiness you are feeling is primarily your body adjusting from having the methadone that was built up in your system, and the xanax you werent on long enough to have problems or wds from..xanax does ahve a half-life of 8-12 hrs, so if you have taken it within two days it could be the after effects of that, the drug will stay in your blood stream for about almost 24hrs. you wont feel the efects after 8 hrs but it will make you drowsier during the day.usually longl lasting benzos like valium, klonopin, and restoril have the next day drowsiness effect, but some have that with xanax, actually most i know on it have that problem, it is great you got 7 hrs of sleep and its getting there as its geting back to normal..since the done your brain is making huge recovery steps and changes, it take a few months to heal but awesomelly enough are brains heal the damage we wreak upon it...the opiate receptors, your natural endorphins, and pleasure centers have all been altered, destroyed, or needing some big fixes, and thats what your brain and body is doing now and for the enxt few  months the drowsiness will lighten up the more and more you have a normal sleep cycle 7-8hrs every night...once you get that youll be all good, congrats again, you should be so proud, christos

I was prescribed clonidine for the rapid heartbeat. It is very cheap... $4 at walmart. It also helped with sleep & anxiety. I am not sure if I would of made it without it. it is not addictive... so you don't have to worry about that.  I am 49 days clean & I am sleeping fine & fatigue is pretty much gone. Good luck to you.

I found I was extremely fatigued during my withdrawals and for a long time after.  I still get fatigued sometimes.  I think what you are going through is normal.  Do you have a doctor that can help you with this to help keep track of your heart rate, etc.?  Like I said before, you are in my prayers!

You CAN do this and you're doing GREAT!
