stopping Opana ER

I have  been taking Opana ER 30mg. 3 times a day for several months.  My doctor has moved to Alaska and gave me 3 months of prescriptions while I find another doctor.  When I dropped off the 2nd prescription the pharmacy told me they have ordered Opana several times over the last month and the order has not come.  I called every pharmacy in my town and they said the same thing. Tapering is out of the question, so I guess its time for me to stop taking it, and it will have to be cold turkey.  Can anyone tell me what to expect?  It's been two days and I'm pretty sick.

I would call your health insurance company and tell them the problem.  Usually they will help you get what you need if you are having any problems.  Maybe they can have it ordered through mail order or know of other options.

No. It seems they don't care...

Have you tried any where a little outside of your town if there's a larger city nearby?    What about an urgent care center. Often they have an on site pharmacy.

Don't give up on this yet...

It was Walgreens and they did give it back.  Then I called Kmart, Walmart, Winn Dixie, and an independent pharmacy.  They are all out and have not been able to get it.  Those are all the pharmacy's in my town. So not sure what my options are.  They don't seem to care.

Okay. Call the pharmacy and tell them to find a place to get this drug! If they can't, tell them to give you the prescription back.

Is this a chain pharmacy?  Like Walgreens?

They need to help you here. It's not right to be forced into withdrawals! They can call a local hospital and ask if their pharmacy has the Opana.
