taking lortab

I have been taking prescription lortab for a long period of time for severe pain from collapsed disc and had 2 surgeries with cadavier bone replacement. I hate to have to take them but do not know how to stop. I try but get serious side effects when I try to stop. What can I do to help get off these. I hate it.

I was at 100 mgs of lortab plus more if i had em..did it for five yrs...i as well have collapsed diss and a fusion in my neck
The pain using brings can be worse than physical pain..and it doesnt really rlieve it anyway..just adds another problem..a worse problem
r u able to get that many prescribed to u daily? from one dr?
I never could so started buying em..then the trouble really starts when the power bill comes due...made my back hurt worse..the stress of the whole thing
I tried to taper//without success..so i basically went CT
Imagined writhing aorund on the floor in agony..throwing up everywhere
wasnt like that..had a mild headache, runs pretty bad buut imodium works wonders..a bit nauseated..and felt tired...lasted 3-4 days and went back to work day 5..then the mental aspect kicked in a week or 2 later..that for me was tough and why aftercare is so crucial to long term recovery
the thomas recipe helped me lots/and exercise daily/even day 1 of wd...it kicks in endorphins u will need so badly when u cut off ur outside supply to ur brain..ur brain will be a bit surprised and depression can set in

I didn't know if my answer was recieved. About 8-10 per day. Too many and have no one to talk to cause I have been keeping it a secret for a long time. my husband doesn't know how bad it is. I know he would not take it well. he thinks you can just stop cold turkey or you just don't need them. But the pain is very bad. But I would now rather deal with the pain than be dependent on the Lortab. It is very depressing! Esp. with no one to talk to who would understand what I'm going thru. Thank's for the reply.
