I'm praying for you guys today. Hang in there!
#Livn'ItUpInCO
#GodIsGreater
Good for both of you!!! It is so good that you are doing it together and once you get through the first week or so it will all be worth it!!! Glad to hear that you arent feeling to badly!! You might be one of the lucky ones! I found that my detox was much easier than I had it built up in my mind to be!!! Make sure you guys get involved in some kind of aftercare! It will be a lifesaver!!!! Keep pushing through and once you come out the other side you will feel so much better!!!
Maybe. I never did that either. I know the cravings can sneak up on you in a flash. I'm glad you are so resolved. I am the same way. Never again!!!
How is your husband doing? Is he as determined too? You guys can do this together. The suport is a blessing for each other.
I will never touch that or any other drug again! Never got the urge to stick myself with a needle thank god. I hear that makes it harder?
Then maybe you dodged the withdrawal bullet. Which is great. If you were going to feel it after 2 days you would by now.
No more vicadin too. Have you thought about NA or AA? Even though you may not have the physical, there may be cravings that are hard to get through. AA and NA will help you learn to get through thst.
Keep on going. Heroin is an evil drug. Gotta be strong. The next detox won't be so easy if you go back to it.
Thank u all for ur support.
Yes it is both of us. We have been using for a year now. That's a year to long for me! At my worse I was doing 2 grams a day. Now we are at a half to a gram a day between both of us.the stuff we have been getting is really bad tho. I'm waiting for something to happen but nothing for 2 days now. We wake up and are not sick at all I did do a vicodin yesterday for a severe headache. That u all for ur support.
Actually he will probably sleep most of the 1st 3 days. Shoot I slept a lot for the first 5 days. Being extremely tired is common in the beginning.
The Thomas Recipe will help if he can keep the pills down. He may be very nausaus and vomiting the first week too. Your stomach is sensitive and you have hardly any appetite. Make sure he drinks enough water, Gatorade and ginger ale too. Get him some hard candy to suck on bc his mouth may water a lot or be dry. It'll help a lot. Epson salts for baths too. Warm socks and blankets for when cold. And a stack of clean shirts to change when he sweats through his shirt several times a night. And he will for sure. Can't lay in the wet shirt.
And of course you too if you are detoxing as well. You can do this. The first 7 days will be the worst. Then it'll get better over the next week and the physical will be over @ 14 days.
I just wanted to show my support. Good Luck to you guys. You have a small army to help you through.
Hi there! A little more info: are you and your hubbie both trying to get off heroin together? How long have you been addicted?
You may know this, but along with opiate wd comes insomnia. Without valium or a benzo, peeps don't sleep much in the beginning. Some folks tried melatonin but there isn't an otc that works in general for anyone.
The thomas recipe is on this forum. It just tells you what to get to aid in the symptoms. Like immodium, advil etc. It tells you what you can do and get to make wds a tad easier. They aren't easy. They suc, but we have to got thru em to get to the other side, ya know?
Stay close and let us know what you need.
Hi glad you found your way here. I posted on your other thread.
Yes otc meds for sleep, melatonin, Valerian root, alteril.
Sleep is hard to come by during detox.
Patience and time will be your best healers.
