Vicodin Withdrawal Question

I have been taking 5mg 2x's a day for 1 year.  I figured that I would taper to 1 a day for 2 days then 1/2 pill once a day for 2 days.  This is my second day of taking 1 pill and i'm crabby as heck.  I s this normal for such a low amount?  I am going on vacation in 6 days and i'm freaking out that I will have withdrawal.  What do I do?????????

Hi Coffeelady. Welcome to the forum.. My husband took a low amount for a couple of years 1 a day When I quit he quit with me. You will feel emotional thru your tapering process like crying our angry You can help yourself by walking outside our just being aware this is going on due to the wd helps a lot. Your attitude will make it ok. By the time your ready for your vaca You will be just finished. You may have a couple of nights where it is hard to sleep and feel a lil restless but other then this being on vaca is the perfect time to finish as you will be busy and it will keep your mind busy.. If you feel a lil extra anxiety just remember what you are going thru ok You are doing good just keep it up. Have a great time Free of opiates !! lesa

I think you should be okay.  You may feel some minor discomfort but it shouldnt be too bad.  Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids.  Get up and move around as much as you can.  Enjoy your vacation!!
