vicodin withdraw

I am 24 hours into ending my love affair with vicodin.  I have been addicted for approx. 8 mo.s and taking between 60-80mg daily.  I am starting to experience some minor withdraw effects and know it will get worse.  Any advice on helping to cope with and live thru this.  How many days do you think it will be before I'm human again?  I can get suboxion(sp) on Monday if I'm clean 3 days.  I'm not sure I want it but I suppose I'll know more on Monday right?  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

so far its been 30 hours and I tried some of the suggestions on Thomas recipe and I think they work.  I am takin over the counter pain killers (as directed) Naparson, and motrin, mixing that with ativan and soma to help sleep.  I hope tomorrow is better.  Good luck too all my brothers and sister addicts out there, i never thought this would be me.I hope I lose the calling of the pills soon.  I am so scared I will use again.  One big help is I have a counseler.  Please pray for me, I will pray for you.  Thank you.  Love Donna

I agree with marcatj.  Get yourself the aminos and start taking them.  In a few days you should be feeling better physically.  Try and get some exercise and drink plenty of fluids.  You can do this.  Keep posting as that helps a ton too.   Stay strong      sara

if it's only been 8 mo's, i would suggest trying it without the Sub, and getting other support.

on the dose you were on, for the time you were n, i think by day 4 you'll start to feel better.  it's not THAT horrible... we've all had the flu before.

type in The Thomas Recipe in the search engine on this site.  it will help.  and the physical stuff really is only for a few days...

the mental is the hardest part.  after you quit.  so you will eventually need to think of how you will handle that.

but for now - you can do this.  i don't think you're going to be wiped out at the dose.  and again, after a couple of days its going to feel alot better.

hang in there... it does pass.  it really does... (and post alot!!)

warmly,
mj
