what do i do??????? help please!!!!!

First off ,I was in a really horrible car accident. I went throught the windshield, to make a long story short I had to go to pain management and I've been on the medication for well over a year, Im prescribed oxycodone. I found out Im pregnant and Im 12 weeks. I feel horrible to take something while being pregnant , I was taking 4 to 5 a day but after I found out I was pregnant I went down to 1 to 2 a day. Does anyone out there have a similiar problem? I tried to stop completely but i got so sick ( like a withdraw I was told thats how sick I was) not to mention in alot of pain. I don't want my babies  to come out addicted to the medicine. The baby doctor doesn't want me to stop cold turkey he told me I could cut down and that's what I did . I don't want to be a bad mother to my babies I'm so confused please if you know anybody that's gone through this, please let me know.

I am so sorry that you have to have pain during such a wonderful time in your life,,,having twins!   I also have chronic pain...sometimes the mental anguish can outweigh the physical pain relief you get from them..For me, stress makes me hurt worse and the pills became a source of stress for me....ibuprophen, ice, heat, yoga (I teach a prenatal yoga class), massage are options that may help..narcotics for pain relief long term is a very personal decision...sounds like you have a good relationship with your doctor...seek his advice as to what is best for you right now...keep posting as there is alot of support here

I don't have an answer for you that will help ease your fears, as I don't know. But, I just wanted to say that you are in the right place and I hope that you will be able to get to a point when you can enjoy the miracle of your pregnancy. Congrats on having twins!
