My son is with me and stopping his drug use, he is going thru withdraws, What can I do to help. He doesn't want to go to a treatment center.

Clonidine,  Dr. prescribed,  it really helps keep a person "in their skin".  If seeing a Dr. is out of the question,  then get :  Immodium for the diahreah,  perhaps some valarian tea,  melatonin if he isn;t on an antidepressant,  look in the Health pages for detox information( the Thomas Recipe)  muscle relaxers, if he can take them.   See, the really hard part abt. recomending anything to someone is that not everyone can take what another person takes.  Please, no one here is a Dr. and we can only tell you what works for us.  I had a kind Dr. who prescribed me a few Clonidine, it really did help, plus the Immodium cause usually everyone gets diareah,  something for muscle pain (otc)  Hot/really warm baths help alot,  heating pad,  RlS is also common,  so is depression/anxiety,   will crave and just want this to be over with.  I felt so much better after day 4,   days 3 & 4 were the worst for me.

DO NOT GIVE HIM ANY DRUGS is there the possibility that he could get into a rehab because if there is I would strongly suggest that is what he does .
You can be there for him.What is he taking how long has he been on it ? what day of WD is this .There is something called the amino acid protocol in our "health pages " .That has a lot of supplements that are very helpful.Also you are going to need help as well I would look into Al Anon meetings he is also going to need recovery care whether he wants it or not aa/na or an addiction therapist something .Getting off the drugs is the easy part staying of of them is the hard part.
