Fear, coupled with knowledge, can be a great motivator. You can get through all of this. It will be very hard, but very doable. Life clean is wonderful - that's a promise.

7 yrs or more? Okay, yea don't feel ashamed. I've been using pain meds for 8 years. Everyone on this forum are addicts. So, you don't need to feel alone. But, please listen to what these people are telling you. They're very intelligent and really supportive. Do you have a family member? Friend? That you can confide to? Maybe, they can go with you to the doctors? How are you feeling right now???
Yes you are corect... im not sure where to post on here to say thank you to you and everybody that responded but thank you everybody for... all i know is im scared to death right now....
A dr can give you plain codeine without Tylenol to wean with. Please go ASAP!!
You may be scared but I can't believe that, deep in your heart, you didn't already know how much trouble you were in. Why else would you take the time to find this forum? We aren't always so blunt (well, most of us anyway) but your situation demands immediate action and pushing you to see a doc.

I am sure the physical detox will be covered with different medications that are safe for you. I'm not sure if it's the same in Canada, but here there are many things that help protect jobs. There's the family leave act. Also, many companies have employee assistance programs and they are very used to dealing with employees with addictions. Your job is protected and they will even set up detoxes and rehabs and help with aftercare. There have been cases where the employee is considered disabled and as long as they're seeking help, their job is protected.
But if you don't see a doctor, like right now, you won't have to worry about the job because your liver will give out.
Everyone here is VERY concerned for you and will do everything they can to help you through this but we can't help you at all until you see a physician.
Do you have any family with you right now? I really think you need to go to the ER and start the process. They're used to people coming in seeking treatment for addiction. They'll get things started.
You posted here so I know you want help. This is very, very serious. Think about it: a whole bunch of strangers are here pretty much begging you to go to the doctor right now. We care. Please, please go. And they'll give you something to help with the anxiety you're feeling right now. Won't it feel good to just turn this all over to someone who knows what they're doing?
