have to stop

I got some pills and was hoping to taper down to a good level to go cold turkey but it didn't work out.  I was afraid to go CT with the holiday coming up.  I have a few left and some suboxone about enough subs to last a couple of weeks. I have been using for about 4 years and have gone up and down with the levels. I just want to stop so bad but I just can't seem to get there.  I want to try and take the subs for a couple of weeks and then taper down on those as I did that once about a year ago and it really worked.  I got offered some pills after that and I took them which started the whole roller coaster again.  I know that if I could get through this detox I could make it as I am going to meetings now and trying to work a program as well.  I am scared though and it just seems so hard to make the move.  I have a son and I don't want to be sick for days and have him wondering what is wrong I guess I could just come down with a very bad flu and get he would understand.  I want my life back.

Why do you say not sure if it's enough for a few weeks? Are you getting more meds in a couple of weeks?Or do you want to quit all together?I know it's scary to make the jump but the physical sickness only last a couple of days it's the mental part that takes forever.I know the shakes, not sleeping, being sick, and the cold/hot flashes suck but everyday you get threw it is another day forward to feeling better and getting your life back. It's really hard for me too but any time you feel like your gonna break just come and post.If your not up to posting just come here to read.Believe me your not alone and you should find some comfort with that alone but also the people here are amazing.Everyone here is so quick to help when your in need.Did you look at the Thomas's Reciepes? Before you stop i would go out today and stock up on the stuff your gonna need also buy alot of soup. You probably won't want to eat but you should at least try to get some thing light in your belly like soup and crackers or a small sandwitch. That should help with a little energy since you have a small son around. They say food helps give us energy. Then i would flush all the pills tomorrow.I don't know about the sub i've never tried it but others say it helps but i don't believe i've ever heard any of them say they needed it for a couple of weeks. Most of them say they only use it for the first couple of days to help with the w/d symtoms.I wouldn't use it for a couple of weeks if i were you.You don't want to treat a pill addiction with more pills.Do you? Also from what i heard they can be addicting too.If you need any more help please just write and i hope i helped you a little.

Hi and it's a great step that you are wanting to get clean. Going ct only lasts about 4 days and you begin to feel better. There are some things in the Thomas Recipe that will help. It is to the right under health pages. I could never do a taper bc I'm an addict and I just would take more than I should. You still get sick doing a taper...it's just dragged out. How many pills are you taking? I understand that you want to be there for your son and it's the holiday but it will always be something. Best to get off and begin your recovery so you will be able to spend more quality time with your son and get your life back. I know it's scary but you can do it. It's great that you are going to meetings. That's so important so you learn not to take that 1 again. Feel free to PM me anytime if you need support. Best of luck on your road to recovery. Corey
