Alcohol and Wrist Drop

Hey everyone. I am sponsoring a fellow that woke up with "wrist drop." He claims he didn't do anything to injure his wrist/arm the night before. When I looked at his hands I noticed some signs of wasting... I am curious if anyone has heard of Alcohol Neuropathy ( nerve damage from alcohol ) causing damage to the extent of wrist drop ( a flopping, partially paralyzed hand ) ? I just have to wonder...

thanks

Oh man... That is messed up! I let my friend use the computer and he logged on here and didn't log out... When I posted again it came up under his handle. My apologies. Hopefully that will not happen again! This is another reason I dislike allowing others to use my computer.
The posts above are from redbud, not guzzler as it appears.
Sorry for the confusion.

Oops, guess I need to correct my profile. Thanks for mentioning that!
Buddy used to get lathered darn near everyday for roughly 3 or 4 years.  Before that it was somewhat more reasonable. He had 7 months of sobriety last year which is why I will not give up on him. His last good streak of 3 years sober was '99-'02. Then it get's sketchier as times goes on.
He's saying the Doctor only asked if he was drunk the night before and slept on the arm wrong. He told him he was "buzzed," but not drunk. I'm not sure what the Dr. is thinking...probably following S.O.P. Check this, then that, etc. I think we need more special Doctors for Alchies...

Sorry for the confusion... I am not a women.
Well, buddy got a nerve test. He was prescibed Prednisone and Therapy. The Dr. told him it "should" get better in about 6 weeks. I hope it does for his sake... Without his arm brace he appears to have Cerebal Palsy in that hand.
Could you share more about your lady friends condition? My pal would like to know more. Thanks.
