3am anxiety again!!??

Here it is 3am and im having a panic attack again! Feels like my heart is racing, and beating hard, my mind is going crazy! As soon as I woke up with my heart racing I thought about dieing in my sleep! I woke up at exactly 2:58 (as always around 3am) and waited for it to calm down but its still there.. I just took a half of ativan so hopefully that will start to calm me down. I hate taking pills thats why I only took a half. They scare me also.. This is scary and makes me so irritated. Why Why Why does this happen?

So happy it worked for you!  Have you ever tried Creamery milk?  It would come in a glass bottle you get at your grocery store.  The reglar 'red-cap' ones are like beauty in your mouth, sweet, creamy, and simply wonderful.  I give Creamery milk a 10, while milk in plastic or cardboard would rate a 6!  No, cardboard gets a 4, lol.  You can also use the totally natural melatonin for sleep.  It comes in pill form in your local pharmacy.  Get the ones that are 2 mg, and take one before bed or when you have time to sleep several hours.  Higher dosages of this don't work any better, and could easily give you nightmares.

Tried it and it worked! But I didn't have a phone book so I used a cook book Lol.. But thanks it did work! I'm not a big fan of milk unless its in cereal but I did drink a small glass and it did relax me. Luckily for me my anxiety attacks @3am haven't been that big lately.

When you go to sleep at night, your brain goes through a series of phases from deep dream states, to near-wakefulness, and back again.  I would bet that 3 am is the time when you are closest to a wakeful stage, and you wake up instead of remaining restful and sinking back into sleep.  I have had this happen.  I get up, use the bathroom, get a tall glass of milk and read the telephone book - seriously.  The milk has a sleep chemical in it, and the telephone book bores me to death, so I'm ready to go back to bed in 10-20 min.  Give it a go, can't hurt and might help. :)

A small amount of stress yes. The ativan called me down alot and i feel better now but feels like the ativan gave me a headache. Is that possible?

I think the night time is when the subconscious takes over.   I was having this at night and had to get anti depressants.  I'm possibly suffering from a nervous breakdown.   Are u under stress?
