I'm curious about your Luvox experience. My psychiatrist keeps mentioning it, but I'm concerned about it's many drug interactions. Then again, he thinks I have OCD, which I don't.
Thanks again Ryan,
Just a question. Since Luvox is SSRI as well and doc switched me from Luvox to Paxil,
does it mean I am taking SSRI med for 7 months now? Basically Luvox was replaced by Paxil.
Please advise Ryan,
Best to you,
Robert
I agree with that -- I was going to add that. The same websites that have the bad withdrawal stories also contain success stories, as well. And for me, even though quitting Paxil has destroyed me, I'm in a tiny class, maybe a class of one. Most make it through it okay. My point still is, be on the safe side, and be aware of what to look for in case you are one of the many who do suffer bad withdrawals so you'll know how to handle it -- too many psychiatrists don't. And I urge caution with all meds, not just Paxil, and not just about withdrawal. Paxil did help me, it just had a lot of side effects that piled up over the years.
By the by, on another thread here, there's someone going on Lexapro to try and end her terrible Paxil withdrawal, you know, the condition that doesn't exist.
Dear All,
There is another thing i forgot to mention and will that change my taper schedule from 40 mg of Paxil??... Prior to Paxil same doctor put me on 300 mg of Luvox (SSRI) so it means I am on SSRIs for 7 months right now, not only 3 months.
Kindly advise if I should taper more slowly or stick to a schedule of 5 mg every week.
Many thanks,
Robert
Cnote, did you take any AD and if yes did you suffer a withdrawals... Please advise
Robert
Most people take the time to write the BAD EXPERIENCES with drugs... and not the good experiences..
If you have no withdrawals from a pill.. why take the time to write about it?
If you are having terrible withdrawals... then you are going to write about it and ask for help etc.
So, LOTS AND LOTS of people do not have withdrawal symptoms. And if they do, they typically arent that bad... and the symptoms do eventually leave. =)
I liked Ryan's first question to you -- your doc put you on 40mg of Paxil because of a little frustration at work? You're right, your doc is a dork. I think you'll be fine.
Taybey, just because you had a certain experience doesn't mean everyone does. I'm happy you had an easy time. Don't put down those who haven't. Come on people, treat others as you would want to be treated -- listen to people, they're not lying, they're not victims of mass hysteria when they were already suffering before they went on the websites in the first place, give people the credit we give you. That's all Ryan and I were really arguing about, but really, I'm glad both of you had it easy. That's how it should be.
Peace.
