A little crazy

I still continue to shake and have not been sleeping at night and I have been prescribed celexa 40mg and trezadone 100mg. I am a little worried that I have been taking these medications for 6 months and still having these symptoms. I have told my doctor and he hasn't changed anything, should I just stop.

If you are considering making any changes as regards your medications you need to tell your doctor. Both of those medications can cause short term movement disorders (and with Tradazone the potential of long term movement disorders) so it would be worthwhile to discuss that with your psychiatrist as well. There are other options and if those medications aren't working as well as they should or you cannot tolerate the side effect profile they could appropriately adjust or change your medications as needed. If you have insomnia one option you could ask about as regards sleep aides is Rozerem which is an FDA approved medication that works like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle and is non addictive.

If your medication is not helping you try other methods of deep relaxation. Keep your self busy in the day so that you feel tired when you go to sleep.

Keep in mind, do not stop your medication suddenly. It can have many chemical imbalances. Talk to your doctor about withdrawl and he will tell you how to. That is by reducing the doses gradually.

PLEASE READ THIS!

I have had anxiety for 7 years now. I have never taken medication. Compared to how it was before to now, I can say that I got better. My anxiety was caused by immigrating to the U.S from the Dominican Republic. Also, my first boyfriend was cheating on me, which made my anxiety worse. To top it off, after I broke up with my first boyfriend, I dated another person that cheated on me, and a few years later I dated another person who was very controlling.

What made my anxiety better was the fact that I sat down one day and was asking myself what might be the reasons I worry to much. Woww! I came up with a good list.

After analyzing my list I decided to
1) brake up with my ex
2) I learned to say no even to my family. I used to get stressed out when someone asked me to do something or asking me for money and I was not able to provide. It is ok to say no
3) eating healthier helps too
4) Go to the gym
5) do what you enjoy doing. I love to cook and it makes me happy!
6) stay positive! it helps.
7) write down affirmations saying positive things about yourself.
8) dont worry if someone dies bECAUSE it is part of life
9) whenever you have a negative thought immidiatelly think about something positive it helps!

I had problems sleeping as well but now I just fall sleep like a princess. Just relax. listen so some relaxing music or use a journal and before you go to sleep write down a lot of good things about you!

Going to church has helped me as well!
Good luck and please just write down what you think is causing you to get anxious and try to do something to fix the problem. Dont run away from your problems but rather confront them and try to find a solution to your problems. This helped me a lot. My anxiety is almost gone. God bless you!
