All Weekend Long Anxiety Attacks

Greetings,
This is my first time posting on a forum like this. I have had on/off again anxiety attacks since Thursday and the medication I take helps alleviate the symptoms (Lorazepam and Clonazpam) but I have not had an anxiety free day since Thursday and I do not know what to do. I went to the ER Friday and they told me I have GAD (which I already knew) and I would be fine. I needed to go talk to my therapist to manage my attacks. I absolutely hate this. I had my first attack ever in November and then I did not have another one till after the holidays. The last month has been horrible and there has been nothing new going on in my life. Has anyone experienced attacks several days in a row? The only thing I can manage to do is lay in bed and watch TV. Even eating upsets my chest and head.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi,
Thank you for your response. I am so impressed you have been living with this for 3 years and have never taken medication. After my first attack, I had to take something. I couldn't handle the thought of that happening again. It was so scary. The Lorazepam is only in emergency situations. I take the Clonazpam every night to help me sleep. They tried putting me on Prozac after the first attack but after the first month I start having more anxiety attacks and the doctor attributed it to the Prozac. We are going to try another antidepressant now to take daily. We will see what she says.

I have also had this going on the past week, I am in between meds, started prozac a few weeks ago and felt great the first 10 days then it became to over stimulating for me so now just started Zoloft again today but taking xanex to get me through the days until something works again. Try working out and do some deep breathing and tell yourself you will be fine, that is what I try to do!! Good Luck it's not fun but like my Doc says This too shall pass!!
