i've heard some people say it gets better for them. this particular side effect seems to be more common than it should be....and with the sheer volume of people who take it every night, it's a rather scary thought. i've seen a few other posts on this. maybe try to search the archives and read through what others have said on the issue.
Ambien does have that potential side effect and people can build up a tolerance to it. You could ask your psychiatrist about Rozerem which is an FDA approved sleep aide that is safe and non addictive and works like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle.
