Anxiety about mild injury

Hey there,

Am I at risk of any serious disease if I get a very mild scratch from some other man's fingernail? This happened to me a few days back while travelling in a train. Since then, I have been thinking about it and it has been causing me a lot of anxiety. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks and regards.

No, it would not make me change my answer.  He is not carrying any diseases under his fingernails.

Hi there,

Thanks a ton for your answer and support. I was only worried as it was from the fingernail of another person (from an unknown person in a crowded train). Would that make you change your answer? Are mild fingernail scratches from humans dangerous as such?

Thanks a ton, again.

Regards

People get superficial wounds all the time and they typically do not get infected.  A scratch is really nothing to worry about.  A cut that is infected would turn red around it, sometimes have pus as well.  I'm sure you have had many cuts over the last 24 years and they have all turned into nothing.  Don't worry about this.
