Anxiety /chest pains

Does anyone have the common anxiety chest pains and have these pains dissipated with taking SSRI's or benzo's?

I understand your fear of meds and the possible start up side effects. These usually go away though after awhile. We just have to do our best to hang in there until they do. Can you say what the longest time you've been on an antidepressant was? Most Drs will recommend staying on them for at least 6 weeks, unless you're really having severe side effects that will not go away. I've found that the first few days to a week can be the worst and it gets better after that.
You really don't have to live your life this way. I'm so glad to hear you're in therapy. Maybe you can start going more than every other week though. Think about giving an antidepressant another try. The right therapy and meds really can do wonders.

I am currently on Lorazepam.5 I suppose to take it twice a day and my pdoc said its even ok to take it up to three times but honestly, I'm nervous about the addictions that can develop. I've sensitized my self to the point that ssri's are making me quit them before they can do what their made to help do. I take CBT every other week but I still feel aches and have reoccurring PA.

Thank You for replying and the welcome

History: I suffered my first attack in 2005 then four years went by and I had what I call my first Panic Attack while driving. I was prescribed Paxil and took if for 3 weeks and felt great did even pay attention to the side effects. September of last year after a surgery while being ready to be discharged at the hospital I had another then another in November.

It's going on year now that I was diagnosed as having PD and I've had all testing and labs, thyroid levels, hormone levels done with holistic doc and cardiologist said I have benign PVC's and I've also seen a neurologist had mri's ct's,eco's stress test, holter monitors, all these doctors have cleared me as to having anxiety.  I've been prescribed and represcribed Paxil along with other ssri;s and benzos but I can't seem to get past the side effects. My symptoms have become more chronic and I get panic attacks very frequent. I also do CBT bi weekly and currently take Lorazepam .5  twice daily that seems to help a little bit. This disorder has truly taken my independence I've now developed phobia of being alone and my mother has taken residence here with me since my husband works long hours and I have my 9 year old son to look after and I'm afraid to have a PA and freak him out because I never know if I'll have to go to an ER bc of the symptoms. I'm afraid to try meds but at some point I'm going to have to.

My pdoc is only wanting me to take the Lorazepam for now since I was completing blamimg the chest pains on the  Celexa 10mg that I only took one day. I'm truly at my wits with the physical symptoms stealing my quality of life.

I'm so glad that you all are here.

Welcome!

Can you elaborate as far as your history?  Have you suffered from anxiety for a while, or is this new for you?  What kinds of symptoms are you experiencing?  Have you tried any kind of anxiety treatment and have you been seen by your doctor to rule out any kind of medical condition yet?

There's no doubt that medications can be a helpful part of anxiety treatment, but they aren't a "cure all".  Especially if you're fairly new to anxiety, there are many avenues you can explore before turning to a medication.  It's something that each person must decide for themselves.

I look forward to hearing more about what you're going through.  We're here to help.  You're not alone.

Yes, I think many of us anxiety sufferers get chest pain. If you get your anxiety under control with therapy and possible medication the chest pain can go away if the cause is truly anxiety.
Are you in any kind of therapy? I take it you're not on meds because you asked about them?
