Could the night time attacks I have been experiencing be a type of anxiety attack?

I am a twenty five year old female. I don't take an medicine or have an medical problems. I have been having these attacks at night. I am almost asleep or sometimes already asleep and it's like a jolt goes through my legs up to my chest. Then my genitals start throbbing in an unpleasant uncomfortable way. I just feel very wrong and sick to my stomach. Ihave to get up and walk until it goes away-anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. It has happened since high school but has been getting more and more common, about twice a month. I do have some anxiety problems but I generally know how to calm myself down pretty easy and my awake issues do no feel anything like my night attacks. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be or have any ideas how to make it's stop or at least more bearable?

Have you ever seen a doctor about this?  If you're not thinking anxious thoughts all the time it's probably not anxiety.  It could be a lot of things, for example, a magnesium problem, a Vitamin D problem, all sorts of things.  Only a very thorough check-up will answer your questions.
