I believe the gas is being created by anxiety.... i get gassy and a rolling stomach when i have a nervous stomach or anxiety... or am worried about something... i sometimes get such a nervous stomach i get diarrhea... your nerves can do a lot to your body.
May be but she was actually just saying it casually and the matter of fact is i took it very seriously and somewhere my mind started responding to it. May be i still breathe in lungs but the instruction going to my mind is I am breathing in stomach which may probably creating gase inside also it increases my heartbeat whenever I get scared of that thought. This has completely become psycho-somatic now.
I think the person was trying to tell you the proper way to breathe is abdominal breathing, or deep breathing, whereas most people, and especially anxious people breath only to their upper lungs. This is a technique taught to people when they learn to meditate, and also by cognitive therapists to help relax people. I think silverberg is right, you really can't breathe air into your stomach, it goes into your lungs, but how deep it goes does help regulate mood. Now, this doesn't mean you aren't also suffering from gas. That can happen also with anxious people because we tend not to chew our food thoroughly, we tend to overeat, we tend to overtax our systems. Most people on this board have reported some kind of digestive problem. There are many gentle remedies that can help, such as aloe juice and digestive enzymes, but cj is right, nobody can diagnose you on the internet. So if you suspect you have some problem, see your doctor; how you treat it is up to you.
How you breathe CAN affect how you feel and cause all sorts of odd feelings. I have a hunch silverberg is not a doctor and cannot diagnose you; noone here is qualified to say what it is or is not.
Now is this anxiety related? I believe it is and I do agree that you may be overthinking it a little too much. In my experience with health anxiety we tend to focus in on any symptom that we are concerned about and justify any feelings that we have.
Have you had problems like this in the past? Why not explain this to your doctor? I always suggest getting checked out, but you have to believe what they tell you. In my opinion, where this panic/anxiety cycle can get out of control is when we do not believe the medical professionals and keep searching for a cause.

THAT has nothing to do with gas. all in your head. you said a friend said and you went with it. you are just over thinking the suggestion she gave you. next.
