how my body feels

Hi, about 2 1/2 months ago i went to the er. thought i was having a heart attack again. they did all the test ect.. nothing wrong.... so, i knew and told the er i have struggled with anxiety before. plus, p.t.s.d, panic disorder.... they told me to get a reg doctor. which i did. just to be sure he sent me for a bunch of blood work, a ct scan of the chest with contrast(dye)...  ct scan found nothing..... all normal... but, my blood work was all normal. except my cholesteral was high.. 274..   so, he put me on meds for that 40mg 1 at bedtime... haven't had the bloodwork done yet to see if it has worked yet.. that will be in two wks....   but, the doc checked the vains in my neck, my heart and he says all is normal.....  he also, put me on xanx 0.25 mg 4 x a day.. which is a small dose for what i have... at first it worked fine...  but, now i have the same small discomfort, on my right side.. right under my collar bone.. also, my hands and fingers are numb and tingle like before come and go deal.....  i have been under a great deal of stress latey... can all this anxiety really make my body feel like this??????
also, when i get up in the morning both my arms from my shoulders to the elbows hurt really bad... feel just as if i strained them.. through out the day it goes away, and if i take an advil its goes away... what could be causing that.. it has happend in the past... does it for a few wks then doesn't do it for months then its back.....
i'm a male. 41yrs old.. 260lbs 5'8".... i'm big but not overly fat.... i do smoke about a pack aday.. doc says ct scan lungs were very clear.....  can anxiety cause me all this pain and suffering? it's nice to hear from other people who have this...  because, sometimes i think i'm going nuts....   thanks jdboys2

Yes anxiety works in the strangest ways and it can actually change what it does to your body as well. Mine started off as yours did I went to the hospital 8 years ago thinking I was having a heart attack and plenty of times after that and every time I went everything came back fine they told me I had anxiety back then, so it eventually went away, but I would have panic  attacks every now and then through out the years, now I have them all of the time and I have anxiety from the thought of having more panic attacks (hope that makes sense to you) panic and anxiety are a little different, I have both. Now I have became OVERLY SENSITIVE to the way my body feels and I sometimes bring it on myself when I think about it. I have everything from chest pain, tingly arms and lips, feelings of almost passing out, lightheaded, nauseous, dizzy, cold sensations through my chest, confused feelings, you name it I feel it. I have been to cardiologists and ERs since I was 20. I went to a mental health doctor and she explained why I feel this way.... When you have anxiety or a panic disorder your body naturally goes into a flight or fight mode which makes your adrenaline increase and makes your blood go to the center of your body so you can protect yourself like they did in the caveman days, and when all of your blood is in the center of you body, that will make you feel dizzy or lightheaded, like you feel like you are going to pass out. I have been talking my self out of these panic attacks the best I can, but it is a struggle everyday. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Good luck you you all

I'm glad all your test came back negative which should help relieve the anxiety.    I also post in these forums the way I see it without sugarcoating anything.          You sure do need to get your cholesterol down and also work on a diet with your doctor to lose weight.     At 5'8",  260 is far too much weight to carrry around and will hurt your health in the long run.    And try to quit smoking,  that's another issue work on.     Best of luck.

Anxiety can most certainly make part of your body numb and tingly.  Right now,  the entire right side of my body is numb,  weak and tingly feeling.  I know it can be scary but,  you just got to try to calm yourself down.  It's easier said than done,  I know.
