Someone please tell me this is normal

I have had Anxiety attacks in the past but they lasted a day, then they progressed where they lasted a week.  Now, they have been going on for about two months off and on each day.  Some or worse than others.  Today has been a worse day.  I have some of the symptoms but the worst is my mind and thoughts spin out of control to worst case doom!  Is this normal?

I went to a Dr, he gave me Zoloft 50mg, I have been taking it in the morning now for under two weeks.  I usually feel great after lunch, does Zoloft take time each day to take effect.  in the mornings I feel awful and have panic.

Does anyone else suffer from questioning thoughts.  I know what happened at an event but my irrational thoughts make me question it, then I get panicked and my anxiety goes through the roof.

I also have Ativan to help with the bad panic attacks.  Does anyone know how long Zoloft will take to fully work.  do I need to take the tablets at night so I don't wake up freaking out?

I was having night panic attacks but now I take the Ativam before bed and some other over the counter pills and I sleep through the night.

I have a Dr appointment this week and will ask him all this stuff too but I need some answers now.

Hi.  It takes 4-6 weeks for you to feel the full benefits of the Zoloft, but you should start seeing some difference within the first 2-3 weeks.  It's frustrating to wait, but know that each day brings you closer to feeling better.  What you're experiencing is normal with anxiety sufferers, and the less you can worry the better.  You will feel better with some time.  Take care.
