paxil withdrawls

I have discontinued Paxil 25 mg CR for 12 days now for family planning purposes. I was taking it for generalized anxiety disorder.  I am under the care of my phychiatrist and OB Gyn.  He suggested I taper off, but I chose the cold turkey route. I have done my research on the internet on withdrawl effects and I have just about experienced them all. From hot/ cold nightsweats, fatigue,  diarrea,  flu-like symptoms, nausea, dizziness, headaches, and shakiness. I also have been experiencing extreme shakiness when I have not eaten for about 3 hours. Almost as if I have trouble maintaining blood glucose levels.  My question is  I am approaching the 2 week mark  and I keep thinking these nasty side effects will all go away now. How long do these side effects take to completely be free from your body?  I know I should just be positive and realize I was on this medicine for two years, it just might not dissappear in two weeks. I am mostly concerned with the dizziness , nausea, and blood sugar drops? I am 35 years old . Paxil was the only medication I was on. I am very healthy. I am 116 lbs , about 5'4. I take a multi- vitamin every day.  I also have had two healthy pregnancies and births before I was on Paxil.  I have had no trouble with any health problems until I quit Paxil. What do you think ?? Oh! I have been taking Dramamine the last two days to help with dizziness and nausea. It has helped slightly. Thanks,   Chewy23

Hi, I'm going through the same thing that you are.  Except my medication was Lexapro.  I am trying to taper off of it.  I have been on Lexapro for 3 years.  It is an evil drug.  I feel hot all of the time, nervous, sick at my stomach and very emotional.  I wish I had an answer for both of us.

Hi;

   Was wondering if you felt as bad and in similar ways as before you began taking Paxil? If not, it sounds like withdrawal yet to me.
   I've heard of some having quite the time with Paxil, whether taking it or withdrawing from it.
   Of course, I won't scold on "cold turkey".  : ) Been there, done that myself and paid the price!
