Buying generic Paxil

Has any one ever ordered generic Paxil successfully on line? I want to continue with the Paxil but it's a bit pricey.

Yeah, I love Hong Kong. I live in Kunming, which is a really nice city, but am moving soon to Thailand where Paxil seems more expensive but still not expensive by American or English standards (About 2 dollars 80 for 20mg. I recently tried Prozac as that stuff is really cheap in Thailand but only made it 8 days into the trial before going back on to Paxil. I didn't have any withdrawal symptoms or anything, I was just a bit worried that the Paxil wouldn't work so well if I gave it up, as I read this on an internet site called crazymedz. Actually the prozac didn't seem too bad and I am sure the effects would get stronger if I carried on (It felt a bit weak). Do you have any experience with giving up paxil and starting it again? I posted a message about it and most answers I got suggested no problem. I would like to give Prozac a fair trial but I don't want to risk losing something I know that works.

Frankly I can probably afford it to carry on with Paxil but teaching English in places like China and Thailand means the wage is low enough that it will take a large precentage of salary. Still I reckon it's worth it. Paxil has done me the world of good and I haven't had any side effects at all really.

Anyway thanks a lot for your advice. Taking these medications can be a tricky business. Lucky you told me about the net because I was all ready to order!

China! Very cool. Where in China are you? I spent some time in Hong Kong back in the early 80's, but you and I both know what that means! lol
I wish I had some real help here for you Pete, but I just don't. I do NOT want to see you buying Lord only knows what off the net! Can you speak to someone at the American Embassy? They perhaps know of an avenue you could go down. I would also write to the manufacturer of Paxil and explain your dilemma to them. Probably won't do much good, but nothing ventured..................
The only other option I can come up with right now is to see your doctor, explain that you just can't afford the Paxil and see if he can find something just as effective but much less expensive.
Or.............if you're the really adventurous kind, you could go see Gramma Wong Shu in her hut and see what 'shrooms and herbs she could concoct for you. lol (Please don't do that either!)
Let us know how you make out, OK? Maybe someone on the forum has way better advice for you than what I've come up with. Keep posting so you stay in the loop.

O.K,. Thanks Greenlydia! Problem is I live in China so things are difficult to sort out. The brand name Seroxat is pretty cheap here but still not cheap enough.

PLEASE be VERY careful about buying medications on-line! I can't stress this strongly enough. So many of the on-line medications come from countries that have absolutely no control over the manufacture of these drugs. We all complain at times about the FDA, but they make sure that what we are taking is 100% pure and has the exact amount of the medication it says it has.
There are too many horror stories to tell about people who cross over into Mexico for cheap drugs and wind up in hospitals or morgues. I hope I HAVE scared you! Because it's true. I don't mean to pick on Mexico........it's just that it is so easy for so many people to get there. You can buy meds from just about any country you can pronounce.
Many drug companies have programs that will help you afford the meds you need. Look into that. Contact the drug company and ask if they have an assistance program available. Talk to your doctor and be honest and tell him that you can't afford the Paxil. There may be a much less expensive alternative that will work just as well for you.
Or he/she may be able to supply you with free samples until you can figure out an alternative plan.
