Can I get addicted to .125mg of Xanax?

I've been taking .125mg to .25mg of Xanax 2-3 times a week for for about 5 months to deal with hypnic jerks and insomnia from Paxil withdrawal. I usually only take .125mg and a few times I have gone a week with none at all. The problem is the jerks and insomnia are worst when I am on my period so I took .125mg Saturday, Monday, and last night. I also dropped dose in Paxil a few days ago and now I am beginning to feel anxious and wonder if it is the Paxil WD or possibly Xanax WD. I am getting scared reading benzo withdrawal websites because they say that yes you can get addicted to this small amount of Xanax even if you do not take it daily. Are they right, could I already be addicted to Xanax? How will I know and should I just try not taking it anymore and see what happens?

I agree with janedoe2222 anything can be addictive and a lot has to do with the person. I have been taking Xanax off and on for the past six years. sometimes daily for weeks and months. There have been times when I have had to ween off but then there are times when I have had no problems. Doctor is always your best answer. just to add to that you are on such a low dose I would not worry too much about it. you know your body and your doctor can help relax and realize that it all takes time.

Quit reading garbage on the Internet. DR. Google is not your friend. Follow exactly and only what your Psychiatrist who prescribes the Xanax to you. Anything can be addictive. Xanax is no more addictive than cookies, if you let it be and overuse/abuse.
