How to relax your self when this happens

I have been dealing with this for a year now have been to the er 5 times, lung,heart, allergist like most of the post I have read on here. I feel like I can't Breathe and my chest gets tight happens to me when I wake about mid afternoon and around 830 - 1000 pm. Worst feeling in the world, does this sound like anxiety

Thanks for the advise I do have a pcp I went yesterday she wants to start me out on pax 20 mg and then go back and see her in 6 weeks to see if it needs to be tweaked.

I've had similar episodes, all caused by self-created stress, exacerbated by my smoking and caffeine intake. Do you have a Primary Care Physician? If not, get one and start to see them on a regular basis. ER's can/will do nothing to offer relief or diagnosis for an Anxiety/Panic disorder (trust me, I know) and the only way to really determine a diagnosis is to track you symptoms, diet, exercise and stress levels on a daily basis, and providing your PCP with this data. Xanax may help relieve that late night anxiety episode, but if these incidents are occurring at similar times on a regular basis, that would point to something external environmental, dietary or behavioral trigger.
Start keeping a food log, an exercise log and an anxiety attack/symptoms log. Keep date and times and when's and where's and provide that info to you PCP.

It could be anxiety. Not that you have to be for anxiety to take place but is there anything in your life that may be bringing upon stress right now ?
