Can anxiety come and go even when still stressed?

Hi there,
I am new to the community.  I am a 35 year old female who had a baby 8 months ago.  About a month ago I started to experience tingling and weakness off and on in my arms and legs.  I also had some cold sensations and sometimes feel slightly dizzy or off balance.  Then after a couple of weeks I started having an extremely jittery feeling, like I'd had ten cups of coffee.  I am also experiencing constipation and am down about 10-15 pounds from my normal weight (and not due to lack of eating).  I have been to the doctor and he sent me for blood tests to check my thyroid and blood sugar - both came back fine.  I had a CT scan today, so I am awaiting the results of that.  The thing is that for the last week I have been extremely stressed about the CT scan and possible results because I am terrified I have MS, but I have not been having any of the symptoms that I had in the previous weeks.  Is it possible for anxiety symptoms to come and go even if you are still stressed?  Any info you can offer would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the responses.  I know I have to wait and see what my test results show.  I am trying hard to be patient and not to worry, but that is easier said than done for someone who has been stressed out her whole life.  I appreciate all of the input.

I DO have MS and might I suggest that you get a thorough work-up, since I do feel that some of your symptoms do sound neurological in nature?  Do I think you HAVE MS?  No, but you are exhibiting symptoms that need to be checked out.  Can they be caused from anxiousness?  Yes, but better to rule out other things, before ruling in something you are only guessing at.

A CT scan would NOT be sufficient to rule out many neurological disorders.  No reason to be afraid either.  All of these symptoms may have to do with something concerning your hormones, especially so soon after giving birth.

All the Best,
Heather

Possible? POSSIBLE??

Likely, is more likely. That's how Mr. A and his pals Panic and Depression work.

But be sage (heh, heh) and get that work-up under your belt before making any assumptions. As Louis XVI said, "Don't hatchet your counts before they chicken."

And please keep us in the loop.
