Thanku i will do that is ace i am gonna go tonight thanku x
I'm going to take a wild stab at what an A & E is............is it what we call the Emergency Department of a hospital on this side of the pond? If it is, then I'm once again guessing that you can go there anytime YOU feel the need. Even tho I am Canadian by birth and should understand Socialized Medicine, it leaves me a bit baffled. But I can't believe that the UK would turn you away...........it's against the law in this country for an ED to refuse help to anyone! Why not make a quick phone call to your local hospital and get your answers, then go get yourself the care you need. If your GP says your shortness of breath is due to anxiety, he obviously has done NOTHING to allieviate either of those symptoms.
You asked if they will still assess you......did you ask that because you fear they won't because this GP of yours didn't send you? If the A&E IS an Emergency Room, they will most certainly "assess" you with very highly qualified specialists like Respiratory Therapist and/or Pulmanologist.
GO!
And let us know what they say. Even if it does turn out to be anxiety related, then you know what your next step will be...........some therapy to figure out why.
Peace
