Can my panic disorder do this?

I have had sever anxiety/panic disorder for as long as I can remember.  just last night I had a severe panic attack in which i wasnt breathing correctly and I my hands clinged up and I couldnt move them and I felt intense pressure right below my breastbone,  it lasts for about 20 seconds and then i'm ok after some normal breathing.  What is this?  I went to the ER for it one time and they didnt seem concerned, just gave me an EKG and some blood tests and sent me on my way with some anxiety meds.  Is this dangerous?

I certainly would not blame you if you got checked "just to be sure," but I have a box of Krispie Kreme donuts here that sez its all about the anxiety. Can anxiety do it? Heh, heh.

Do yourself a favor and look at my journal entry: "Could it be..." and THEN go the Healthpages (link at upper right of screen), click on the FAQ's, and scope out the list of reported symptoms.

Then you tell ME: could it be anxiety?

I do appreciate your question -it is among the most often asked and most important ones we see here.

Take good care.
