Oh, FFS. I give up. Hope you have the bones or decent enough insurance for a Licensed Opthamologist too. Do you have a Licensed Opthamologist on board as well??!!!
"My doctor put me on klonopin .5mg once per day or as needed. "
K-Pins are INTENDED for LONG-TERM treatment of Anxiety. Taken X Amount daily. (That how they are intended to work and work best) Not popping willy-nilly. Wrong drug for that.
Must not be reading Ryan's, mine, nor others' post too well..
Because I have gotten better advice from reading this forum than from my doctor and neurologist. My doctor put me on klonopin .5mg once per day or as needed. He told me that when I stopped using it that withdrawal shouldn't be more than 3 days. 47 days into my withdrawal and dealing with raging anxiety and extremely sensitive fingertips my neurologist suggested Cymbalta. Instead after reading this board and a lot of Ryan's posts, I decided to go back on klonopin .5mg twice per day. This has greatly reduced my anxiety. Now I have this one remaining symptom and I am trying to figure out if Librium might be more effective at eliminating it because it is best at treating chronic anxiety versus klonopin which is best for panic attacks which I don't ever have. Yes, I'll ask my doctor and neurologist again. And maybe I will find a Pyschiatrist after that. But how do I know he or she will guide me any better than the other two? I think you really over estimate most doctor's ability to optimally guide a patient with an anxiety problem. This forum is a tremendous resource.
Exactly. You can't self-medicate yourself. And Self-Diagnose yourself as such you were doing in your other 1st post...the whole finger shaking episode spazzing out OCD thing.
Sitting around wondering what is what, and what is going on, and why is this happening, what is wrong with me, and I wonder if I do this, stop this, start this, or I take this med instead of this etc etc is just going to make matters worse in short order...
You need to consult with a Licensed Psychiatrist or at least a DR. who is has some background in Psychiatric Disorders and/or Psychiatric Medications ASAP. Good luck to you bro
You can make the switch, but slowly. Librium is weaker, though it may be fine for you, and klonopin must be tapered off slowly. Definitely needs consultation with a psychiatrist who understands these meds (don't assume they all do).
Why don't you ask your Psychiatrist or Doctor or RX. your Klonopin?
