I can probably understand what you are going through. each and every thing you mentioned in your post sounds very familiar to me. Even I started getting anxious about something which unfortunately I could express to anyone. and that thing had me rushing in and out of the toilet all the time (especially after eating). I can suggest you to join gym and do a acupuncture session. This thing helped me a lot (not fully recovered yet).
Good Luck
I too have a lot of stomach issues due to anxietyThere are some natural things to get rid of nausea...peppermint is really good for the stomach. Chamomile peppermint tea specifically, becuase chamomile eases anxiety and peppermint eases the stomach. Also, ginger helps too. Another thing, is swallow a teaspoon of vinegar before meals...it flushes out and gets rid of bad bacteria in your digestive tract to make digestion easier and make it more comfortable (without nausea and discomfort). good luck!
I have had 9 weeks of severe gut (not stomach) cramps and nausea. Went to one of the top GI doctors and he said it was all coming from the brain. It is making me really sick and increasing the anxiety.
I went the anxiety meds route - never- ever again
I am on xanax and two weeks worth of lose dose citalopram. They are starting me low since I have a sensitive stomach to meds. I have started therapy, two sessions so far. The not eating stinks...well the whole anxiety thing stinks!
Unfortunately, stomach problems like what you are experiencing often come with anxiety and are made worse by the fact it can be so hard to eat when you have a high anxiety level.
Do not worry about your stomach problems. They are simply a reaction to your anxiety. You are anxious so your body is gearing you for fight or flight. This means it doesn't want an intake of food that could hinder it and wants to get rid of waste.
The best thing you could do is to treat the anxiety. This is the core issue.
Are you on any medication for it? I take anti-depressants for my anxiety and find that they help a lot. Talk to your Dr. about treatement options and possibly people to talk to like a clinical psychologist/counsellor to help you with your anxiety.
Meanwhile try your best to eat. Eat carbohydrates like bread and try and get some fruit and vegetables into you. Try not to worry about how much you eat but know that even a little will be helping out your body.
All the best :)
Are you taking anything for your anxiety? Many of us that have it also have stomach problems. This is not uncommon. I would recommend you seeing your Dr again to tell him the meds are'nt working. He may want to do some testing to see if you have something going on with your stomach.
