Thanks for your responses, I would not put my daughter on medication, especially at 8 yrs old, Before I even think she could have anxiety I want to make sure that there is nothing wrong with her physically. I want her doctors to ran as many test possible on her, she's my little girl and I don't want anything to happen to her. That is why i have been in and out of the doctors with her, I just want to get to the bottom of this, its so frustrating.
Absolutely kids can have anxiety and panic. Even the physical symptoms. And it is funny that the doctor says that you suffer from mild anxiety. Most rational, moral humans do don't they?
If your daughter's tests come back normal, get referred to a phsychaitrist if possible. Many doctors try to refer us to counselors, like LCSW's, but I am sorry, they just do not help. I have found that psychaitrists are the best. However, I would strongly advise NOT to let them put her on medication. It is only a fix to the symptoms, but not to the cause. If she starts now, she will be doomed to a medicated life, unable to deal with these issues on their own. In most cases, kids get over it a lot faster and easier with the correct treatment. Good Luck!
