Paxil withdrawals?

I've been on 30mg of Paxil for about a year and a half to help with my anxiety attacks.  At a recent check up my doctor told me that I had a mild weight gain of 7 pounds which she thought might be due to the combo of the Paxil and birth control.  Realizing going off my birth control was not an option, I desided to stop taking the Paxil (cold turkey) about 5 days ago to see if that was contributing to my weight gain.  I spend a lot of time throughout the day on my computer for work and began to realize my vision was getting a little foggy.  Thinking I had been looking at the screen for to long, I desided to take my kids outside to play.  As the day went on, I started to realize that everytime I turned my head it would take a second for my eyes to catch up.  I would get dizzy, lightheaded and unbalanced on my feet.  If I am in a lay down position and I sit or stand, I get very dizzy and a fuzzy feeling in my head and neck.  I've also noticed that I have a strang feeling in my throat.  I almost feel like I have something caught in there and no matter how many gulps of water I take, it won't go away.  Before I went on the Paxil my doctor told me that people who suffer from anxiety disorders sometimes complain of this "lump" in their throat, but I've never had it until now.  Is it true that people who suffer from anxiety complain about this "lump"?  It's really making me nervous and I'm starting to believe that something is really wrong.   I've also realized that I'm been very short tempered over the past 48 hours and loud noises pierce right through my head.  Could all these symptoms I'm having be caused by going off the Paxil?

Never stop Paxil cold turkey.  It must be tapered very slowly.  It can have one heck of a withdrawal.  And if you only gained 7 pounds in a year and a half, that's a miracle from heaven.  If it was working, just go back on it. I gained 50 pounds on it over the years, and I won't tell you about quitting!  Read all the posts about all the weight some people gain on ssris.  So 7 pounds?  That's just nothing!

I was on Paxil for some time and my doctor said you can't go off it cold turkey. You really should talk to your MD about going off and the dosage reduction over a period of time.
