Internal Quivering With Anxiety Anyone

It seems like my insides are quivering when I go to bed at night, when I stretch my self out it feels really relaxing. Is this really a part of anxiety??? Sometimes I have it all day. Has anyone else experienced this? I am terrified I have Lyme disease( as I live in Nova Scotia and it would be hard to get a test done properly, I seen on a show the other night so my paranoia alert came on) M.S, or of course brain tumor. I am driving my boyfriend crazy with the way I have been acting. I am currently taking effexor and it seems to be starting to help a little. Has anyone else experienced this???

Internal quivvering is rarely described in medical literature, however there IS one known connection between depression, anxiety disorders and a sensation of chest/stomach vibration. I mention this, because a senior researcher in the field of acoustics told me this only a week back.

IF there is a source of low-frequency noise (LFN) and/or vibration (ventilation system, sewer pump, heat pump, compressor, wind turbine(s), furnace etc.) - which will not necessarily be heard or felt, one typical sensation people report is: internal quivvering AND anxiety attacks. It is stunning how often these two things are mentioned in connection.

It is not clear if the quivvering is an organic thing (resonance) or just a sensation but it is pretty clear that it is caused by a long-term (1-8 weeks before symptoms appear) exposure to a low-frequency stimulus, usually airborne sound (and no - you might NOT be able to hear it, yet your inner ear does process it). Quite frequently, other symptoms follow that are somewhat similar to low doses of a neurotoxin (or alcohol abuse): problems to articulate, blurred vision, dizzyness, nausea etc., indicating that you central nervous system is being stressed by something.

If there are potential sources of low frequency sound (LFN / ILFN) in a 7-mile radius from where you live and/or other members of your house/family are affected too, consider reading the article "WTS and the brain" by. Dr. Nina Pierpont. Just so can rule out an external source for your problems.

WTS stands for "wind turbine syndrome" because residents near WTs reported it very frequently, but actually it should be called ILFN syndrome (inaudible low frequency noise syndrome) because that's more general and we see an increasing number of people showing these very symptoms near transformer stations, big A/C units or sewage pumps. I just heard of a pool heater causing exactly these problems in a nearby residence...

Thanks, yeah I have had this only once and it was really freaky. I hate having anxiety, it is very scary thinking the way I think( something wrong with me health wise) I always have my jaw clenched though and it is awful. Are you currently taking meds for your anxiety???

I like the term internal quivering.  I've had it for years.  Described it as shaking inside as my hands were not shaking.
The bruxing/grinding of teeth is another symptom
Both usually are worse in morning..for me at least.
So I can't help you too much except to validate your quivering thing.
Best wishes,
Ann

For the TMJ I use moist heat, I have one of those rice heat packs you stick in the microwave. I put that under my ear/jar area to ease the tension there. If you dont have one of those i suppose a heating pad might provide relief. Also massaging the jaw line and opening your mouth wide and shut a few times can help loosen it.
My Chiropracter had told me to sleep with a mouthguard/dental guard you can get at a drug store but  i  felt like i was going to choke on it so I couldnt deal with it LOL Maybe you can....

Are you my Nova Scotia twin? LOL  I dont even realize most of the time my jaw is clenched...its so bad. Very tense neck as a result. Sometimes I get a little TMJ too. And I get the noodle leg feeling alot with anxiety. All common symptoms. Its safe to say you dont have Lymes. I live on Long Island, NY on the shore beach area & there area tonof deer ticks which carry this lymes. My father actually caught it and he got knocked on his butt he couldnt get out of bed, he couldnt walk when he tried just so much pain. None of what you are feeling now is  a symptom of Lymes. BTW...after a few months of steroid treatments my dad is absolutely fine :)

Yeah I am still taking the effexor. It is so weird the shaking, it goes right up into my face sometimes and it just started last night. I bought a couple yoga exercise videos today and I am gonna try them tonight before bed. My legs are still like noodles all the time too. I went to the eye doctor today and she witnessed the different sized pupil and said it was from the medication cause I was just in there 2 months ago and my eyes were fine. I see my therapist again Friday so that makes me happy. I am so tired off this, I want ti too stop but as soon as I start catching my self thinking positive I start with the negative thoughts again. Its stressful and I also always have my jaw clenched shut really tight so now it hurts when I eat LOL. I was hormonal last week and broke down crying a couple times too, it did make me feel better though

Thanks Chrissy and Nell007
I love the support

I get that internal shaky feeling and my father who also suffers from anxiety gets the same. We call them sugar shakes but we know its just Generalized anxiety. I had a terrible case last night before bed, but im also hormonal now too so my anxiety is at its highest this time. Are you seeing a therapist or are you just using meds for now?

i cant say that i have had any quivering with my anxiety but i have major tension in my head - similar to migraines- neck and shoulders constantly. Ive recently had to start wearing glasses as the tension has caused eye problems.. not pleasant so now trying to adjust to life with them.. which have caused their own list of issues.
How long have you been on effexor for?  Any chance you could have a quick chat to a gp in your area?
Anxiety does a whole range of unpleasant things to us.. i was once considering lyme disease as i was trying to self diagnose myself.. im currently in the middle east so chances are pretty small of me having it.. but that didn't stop the brain thinking the worst.
good luck but im pretty sure its your anxiety. sorry not much help.. but you are definitely not alone with this.
