Fears

I was feeling a lot better today vs the last couple weeks. I have a major fear of having my blood pressure checked and heart rate. My uncle checked mine ; I was already nervous, standing up, and trying to hold my dog from running outside. My pulse was 113 and he was like "not good" , of course that made it go higher to 133...I got so freaked out; I threw up and took an inderal. Does anyone else have this fear??

Yes I have been in and out of therapy for years. I am seeing a psychiatrist, but I think I need some CBT....Eh, and I thought I was over irrational fears, lately I cannot shake this feeling about that and many many other things, driving me crazy. Thank you though, helpful that you replied and assured me that others have irrational thoughts that are controlling them.

Your pulse is going to go up when you stand and especially if you're trying to keep your dog from running outside.  Plus, your fear of having your pulse taken will raise your anxiety....raising your pulse.  This shows what an impact anxiety has on us. You need to have your BP taken while sitting and quiet. A lot of us have unusual fears like this, and I think therapy would be very beneficial for you. Hope this helps.
