Hi all, new.

For awhile now, I been having trouble eating food, I think my fear is chocking, 2 weeks ago I choked on a chicken peice for maybe 30 seconds, not a nice experience. now everytime i'm eating, I have trouble swollowing in fear that I might choke again, I breath faster, throat feels closed up, yesterday I was at a restraunt , and I couldent eat or drink anything, was to bad, also i was swollowing my saliva a lot , i hate this, because i'm hungry, and now eating food becomes complex.

I had a loss of appetite due to my anxiety (during it) and I also have a loss of appetite while taking Paxil (anxiety medication).  I have experienced a similar fear when I choked on a candy years ago.  I was about 11 years old and was in a Target.  My mom had to give me the maneuver and a bunch of people were watching.  It was scary and embarrassing.  I think anyone who goes through choking is bound to have anxiety over it for a bit.  My advice is to try and stop thinking "What if I choke?" but have a confident plan of what to do if you do - that way you are prepared, just in case, and you can start to feel more confident about handling the situation.  Whatever you do, don't stop eating! :)

try eating small meals and taking small bites. When my anxiety was at it's peak I lost 9lbs in 7 days!! I had to make myself eat. I found that orange slices and organic yogurt were the best remedy. I would also add some All bran cereal to the yogurt to get my fiber.

Hey there. I dropped down to under 6 stone because I wouldn't eat. My fear was throwing the food back up. I had to learn how to eat all over again. To get that weight back on me. You been to a doctor yet? Any medication? They might have something to help you relax yourself. I just started eating again and not thinking so much of anything else. No miracle cures. More just teaching yourself to relax whilst eating and telling yourself that all will be fine. It is a common problem with anxiety sufferers. So don't think you are alone.
