Hard time breathing, chest pressure, feeling weak.

I was diagnosed with anxiety about three weeks ago, and this has been the toughest three weeks of my life. I'm only twenty one, so this is terrifying for me. It came out of the blue, and I just don't know whay to do. I have Xanax, Paxil and am on medicine for acid reflux as well. I just get this constant pressure towards the middle of my chest, and throat, almost as if it switches off. My heart also feels weak, and it's hard for me to breathe. I've been to the ER and seen my Doctor twice in three weeks, and they have all said I am fine. It's just scary, and it would really help/comfort me to know someone else has been through this. I'm just in constant fear, it's bad. I need some techniques, or something...If you have a moment, anyone, please. It would help to much, I'm just so scared all the time and I feel so weak. I would really appreciate it, please and thank you.

hi, i to have been where your at, i started getting anxiety when i was in my 20 now am 52 and still have it now and than.
yes its very scarey and its hard to deal with but you can do it. you need to understand its your own mind thats putting you threw this, when you start feeling it coming on you need to try and get your mind off of it.  get a good support person you can call or be near when you feel this way this is the most inportant thing you can do. my hubby is a great support person, he would hold me or just being near him made me feel better . i could call him on phone and feel better so very inportant you have that person.

you can breath in and out like 5 times in through nose out the mouth this helps ease anxiety. take a walk. get up and get busy dont sit there and wait for it to gop away it will get worse. dont let it house bound you, it will always leave your house when you have plans to never stay at home because your scard to go out thats not good and you will get house bound. always here to talk .

You are not alone hun. I was just diagnosed with anxiety and panic attacks in december so I'm fairly new to this to. First if you are taking meds that erik help some but I wouldn't know because I didn't take my meds. Til later ok. Now there are many symptoms with anxiety and those are some. The first thing is to try to relax and breath thru this. The first part of my anxiety was waiting for it to happen again. Which could bring on new symptoms. Getting a jump start on getting help is key. I could tell you how many times I game been to the er and drs because if me feeling like I'm sick from something they haven't found or just dying.. This is all anxiety and you should get a jump start in taking to a therapist of since type.. You are not alone.. Being educated on anxiet is key also. There is a web site called anxiety centry dotcom check ut it and look at the symptoms this will help you to not panic when things happen.. I hope you feel better soon.

I'm here us you need to chat hun. You are not alone..

Believe sweety you are far from the only one.  Isuffer from bi-polarism and anxiety.  But I have been stable for awhile and now work for my local mental health mental retardation authority.  There are many techniques.  One is regular excersize.  One of the best things you can do is work on what we call our whole health.  This is your mind, you physical and spiritual health.  Also look up on the computer relaxation and breathing techniques.  Also look up stress relief techniques.  Anxiety can happen from something as small as new or to much stress on ones self.  Good luck, love your anxiety peer.
