I have long since graduated from the crude morphine marinade, although I confess that live oysters swimming in the stuff is a good palliative for nearly anything. From the oyster's point of view, anyway.

But I commend to you the terpin hydrate and codeine martini, a subtle and ineffable nectar of the gods, the principal ingredient of which was once available at the local pharmacy merely by signing someone else's name for it. Drop in an oxycodone table for a special fizz and pleasure.

(MODERATORS: these are jokes, OK?)

Like the rest of you, I'm sort of milling around, waiting for the Lt. to put in her appearance. And in the end, it is not just Carloe who will be lifted up by the experience, but all of us as well. An abject lesson in how it can really work.

OMG....ROFLMAO PMP at the morphine as a marinade question!!!!!!  :0)  You are hysterical!  I think I just gave my poor kitty cart a heart attack hooting and hollering after I read that!  :0)

I am just so glad she got through it and that her long agonizing anticipation is over.  I told her that now that she's made it thru that...the rest will be a piece of cake.  Recovery takes time...but she can do it.  She'll have some pain and need to gain her endurance back...but the biggest hurdle has been jumped and then thrown in the fire.

WAY TO GO, carole....I know I've already said it...but I'm so proud of you.

Wolfie...be sure to share with everyone how wonderful she did...and I'm sure a big part of that was due to the powerful ceremony you all so generously did for her and I (which, btw, have I mentioned a HUGE improvement in my headaches???)  I might not be the most "faith driven" person on the earth....but I believe in the power of love and support from others....in whatever form..prayer, the ritual you explained, etc etc.  Oooh, goosebumps again.

Thank them personally for me from the bottom of my heart okay?

I think we all did a great job....and Carole was so open minded and willing to face her fears.  It wasn't easy and she had bad days...but she kept coming back for the support, which is what matters.

I'm so happy for her that her long nervous wait is over.

I wonder if she'll have any morphine left for the BBQ?
