Have been taking Lorazapam too long?

Have been on lorazepam and cyclobenzaprine muscle relaxers then have been taking them rather frequently but still following the proper dosage instructions. Started getting respitory depression think I almost died....stopped breathing in sleep...lungs seemed depleted yet constricted...weak in the diaphragm. Went off it now and now feeling what seems almost like heart attack symptoms. Chest pain and pressure in center of chest, nausea, neck pain, left arm pain, feeling like i'm gonna pass out at random. Got out of bed and heart started rapidly beating first thing in the morning. Any info or advice would be highly valued at this time. A big thank you in advance.

Hello there, alrighty will do. No, it was lorazepam and cyclobenzaprine muscle relaxers. Had no idea at all nor was informed that it needed to be tapered off. Stopped cold turkey. Really freaking out. Feeling as if i'm going to randomly pass out, getting chills, chest pain, left arm pain, fast heartbeat, migraines.

Hey there, not so sure because it was happening while awake walking around even just as the lorazapam would set in. Creepy because I had kept taking the lorazapam for 3-4 weeks straight then the lungs seemed to get worse over the weeks as I took it.

I agree that you need to be seen by your doctor.  Did you taper off the Xanax, or go cold turkey?  Abrupt cessation of a benzo is not recommended and can actually be dangerous.  How long have you been off the Xanax now?

Did the breathing issue only happen when you were sleeping? Could it be sleep apnea? I agree with BluCrystal...think it is time to see your MD. Perhaps he/she could switch you to something that may be more effective. Good luck!
